The Marine demo squad on the infected Sci Vessel in Starcraft is one of my favorite.

The intro to the Team Fortress mod of Quake 1 is also excellent. All the killing and the music, who hoo!

I remember the intro sequence from GunGriffon on the Sega Saturn impressed the hell out of me when I saw it, in 1996 or thereabouts.
The coolest near-future MBTs I'd ever seen (up to that point) slugging it out in kinetic battle... And then the text comes up - blah blah blah, back then they were still using 20th century technology - and then a shitload of mecha tear into the scene and start blasting the piss out of the really cool tanks.
Looking back on it, I suppose the GunGriffon itself seemed to be riding on inline skates, but damned if it didn't look cool driving forwards with a Ka-50 keeping pace. :)

I like the "Weapon attacks Junon" scene of Final Fantasy 7. Especially where Weapon looks at the Big Cannon in contempt and gets its head blown clear off. Classic...

However, there is no denying Warcraft 3. Human and Orc endings were exceptionally good for a game. Blizzard sure has som movie making talent. They do it everytime! (The intro from Diablo 2 needs an honorable mention.)

Thought I'd just snip out the huge ass spoiler for anyone that hasn't played the game, you might want to make use of that edit button.

ooooo, decisions, decisions. :)

The Starcraft cutscene's are brilliant *southern accent* "I love you, Sarge"*/Southern Accent*.

Diablo 2, the outro at the end has presence. The beginning of Fallout 2 still makes me laugh when the vault doors open. I remember really liking the original C&C cutscenes (the flametank in the open plan Mall still sticks in my mind). X-wing Alliance cutscene's just for sheer quality and detail. Lastly, the unlockable scene's in the Tekken series (though it was of seriously varied quality, some were funny, some were boring and some were just awful.) Brian Fury swatting away bullets and then ripping off and throwing a T-80 turret made me giggle - especially as, in the game, he can be very easily beaten up by Xiaou who is a 15 year old chinese girl.

My current favorite is the Airship fleet vs Dragon swarm near the end of FF9, or the Kuja vs Bahamut scene.

One of my favorites is one of the endings if you lose in Colony Wars 2. They actually built a panopticon. :D

Mine changes quite frequently, but right now it would have to be the final cut scene from AOM where Uber Arkantos is fighting the living Poseidon statue.

Besides the ones mensioned above.

Grey Fox's final scene, Metal Gear Solid.

The whole cyborg Ninja cutscenes, from when you first see the corridor filled with bodies till when the Ninja escapes, Metal Gear Solid.

The Flight of the Falcon, Final Fantasy 3/6.

"Inside Cloud's Head", Final Fantasy 7.

Freespace: the breifing for the Tyrannus mission, and the destruction of the Lucifer.

Kingdom Hearts: the intro and nearly every cutscene for the last two levels.

Final Fantasy X "The Dark Aeon", Anima rises up from the underworld and lays down an unholy smack.

the Final Fantasy X scenes with The airship vs. Sin and the Terra Graviton attack were bad ass, as was the scene where they storm Bevelle and slide down on the Cables.

ff9- Alexander appears from Alexandria castle, also Atomos eating Lindblum castle

ff8- The opening scene and ending, also the plunge into Ultimecia realm.

I'd have to say the intro to RA2, just at the time the best thing I'd ever seen, just the scene of everything going over New York.

The cutscene from Metroid Prime after you kill the Omega Pirate. Stylish black baby!

Day of Lavos in the original Chrono Trigger was great too. Say, did Square change the scene for the FFChronicles version of it?

Oh yes, I forgot: the opening sequence for Zeonic Front has the best fucking Gundam music EVER!

The ending sequence, with Gihren's A Baoa Qu speech voiceover with shots of massive carnage is heartwrenching, one of the best endings ever.

Luca Blight's death scene from Suikoden II (really incredible, worth the price of the game, it's amazing what a good developer can do with simple 2D sprites).

Ending of Chrono Cross, with Schala's liberation from TimeDevourer (not so much because of her dialogue, which is good, but the music is extremely moving).

And of course, the quintessential console RPG cutscene: The Opera House, Final Fantasy VI.

Goddamn, how can I forget -

KKND 1 - ANY of the FMV sequences. They were funny as hell.

"We weren't able to triangulate his position, but we've quadrilaterilised pentagonally."

Giants: Citizen Kabuto - again, some of the funniest cutscenes in the history of gaming.

"Here hold this -" *whack* "Tiiiimmmy!" "TIMMY!" "Tiiiiiiiimmmmmmyyyy!" "TIMMY!" "Timmy?" "Tiiiimmmy!"
