...for the PowerShot SX 20IS I bought a few weeks back.

I'm sure some of you are thinking 'why spend almost $300 on a flash for a $370 camera?'.
Two reasons.
One is that such a flash greatly expands what I can do indoors without having to worry about red-eye and unevenly exposed pictures from the tiny pop up flash.
The other is that I'm sure in a couple of years I'll be buying a Canon SLR to replace the PowerShot and the flash should be good for years after that.

Anyway, I've started playing with it by taking pictures of my dog. :P

Both were taken with bounce flash from ceiling and required only cropping and a bit of white balance touchup in ACDSee.
What I really need is something like this bounce hood.
I used to have a really nice unit like that for my old Minolta 35mm SLR kit and it helped take some beautiful pictures.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier
