I like the filter. It keeps the thrust of your argument. "Fucking Klingon pigfucker" and "$!( Klingon pig#@%" work just the same

They've changed it back? A few nights ago, I was on a friend's bridge and the turbolift door was the exit. Or perhaps they've not adapted all the bridges?Gramzamber wrote:Also, Yay, Defiant bridge.
Though I hate how the captain's chair flickers and you can't actually sit in it without emotes, it being used to transport you out of the bridge. Yeah. You beam out of your own bridge.
I'm assuming it's all a placeholder and later they'll make it more immersive.

Of all the bridges I've seen (default, Galaxy and Defiant) they've all had the chair as the exit.

It was the Turbolift doors until recently, I think it was yesterday I logged in and found the chair was now the glowie, that sucks it was better with the door, I've no idea why they changed it.
This odyssey, this, exodus. Do we journey toward the promised land, or into the valley of the kings? Three decades ago I envisioned a new future for our species, and now that we are on the brink of realizing my dream, I feel only solitude, and regret. Has my entire life's work been a fool's crusade? Have I led my people into this desert, only to die?

I suppose it makes more sense for your character on sit down to fly the ship than it does for him/her/it to wander off the bridge.OmegaChief wrote:It was the Turbolift doors until recently, I think it was yesterday I logged in and found the chair was now the glowie, that sucks it was better with the door, I've no idea why they changed it.

Maybe they had to roll it back due to bugs, wouldn't be the first time.
Anyway I haven't seen any away team pics yet, let's see some!
That's my crew.
Yeah I'm not big on making wacky unknowns, they always turn out crappy for me.

I've been toying around, trying to decide which ship I like most, right now it's still tough, though I'm leaning Science Vessel/Cruiser since I've snagged one each to try out.

I hear you on the gas. Being careful on that mission rewarded me with gas pockets spawning right behind me and blowing me to hell when the Klingon turrets fired.
I found that the best way to get past that section was to set max power to the engines and charge around like a maniac, shooting the gas pockets ahea of me as I went.

Yeah, and you can't full impulse so you have to drive slooooowly through. But yeah the manuevering like a maniac strategy worked.. really no sense in worrying about the shields since power redirection can handle the damage from the turrets and they won't save you from the damn clouds anyway. Though I did find that if I crept right up to the 10k mark only the heavy disruptor turrets would engage so I happily sat outside the firing range of the lighter ones and blew the shit out of them.
Re: Star Trek Online preorder TRIBBLE!
Here's hoping that, eventually, the ships not only get a bridge interior, but the rest of the ship as well.

As my system isn't up to the minimum requirements for this game atm, it'll take a while to get a better system for me to be able to dive in.

If I can get a billing issue resolved with Cryptic's cryptic customer service I'd be happy to jump in with you guys. I'm becoming somewhat displeased with some of Cryptic's policies.

Re: Star Trek Online preorder TRIBBLE!
I have yet to play an MMORPG where 95% of all tickets don't get useless mass responses. Both AoC and LotRO take more than one to get a proper response/help. Of course there's the occasional helpful GM who just takes care of your problem without making a fuss, but you gotta be lucky.Brother-Captain Gaius wrote:Eh. Anyways, some new screenshots!
Me and my away team on Standard Morrowind Planet #345, yay for second engineering bridge officer thanks to T2 cruiser. This was before I learnt that you can hide the fugly body armor by right-clicking on it in the outfit screen. Then there's me on my bridge. Bridges need a lot, reaaaally a lot of work - just bland placeholders right now, and beaming out by selecting your chair is really dumb.
And here's the newest pride of Starfleet, U.S.S. Wallenstein I just changed neck and pylons from the standard constitution parts, and I "updated" the hull material and windows to the "modern" ones to give it a more, well, modern look. I think it works well. Oh, and it's fun to fly, rear torpedo launcher ftw!

Re: Star Trek Online preorder TRIBBLE!
I'm not feeling the love with cruisers. The rear torps are nice, but even with the additional 2 engineering powers they're not much more survivable than my escort - the latter has the speed and firepower to put engagements on its own terms. I want to like cruisers ('cause I want a Galaxy and a Sovereign) but as it is right now it seems hard to justify.

Re: Star Trek Online preorder TRIBBLE!
I'd love to try the Beta Key but they are either all gone or the competitions for them have all finished. If there is another way to get one (besides a pre order, I don't want to buy the game yet as I just want to see how it is) then I'd be happy.

If you swap out the rear torps for another phaser array, things start to get more interesting as you get a three beam broadside. So head towards them, drain their sheild, front phasers + torpedos, then break out the broadsides, lumbering around for the odd torpedo hit.Brother-Captain Gaius wrote:I'm not feeling the love with cruisers.
