Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, with Moon and Avatar as runner-ups.

Serenity

Honorable Mention to District 9, a tie at first, but the inclusion of space zombies of death closed the deal though.

Hrm, short list, Titan A.E., Serenity, Revenge of the Sith, and WALL-E.

Children of Men. A close second to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Both made me feel something far deeper than any other film would, Children of Men a celebration of something we take for granted (children), and ESotM your memories of a deep relationship. But while Children of Men left me feeling happy and fulfilled, ESotSM left me feeling very sad and empty, just for how the story went down.

I can appreciate both feelings immensely, but I like the more positive feeling that CoM gives me. So there's my vote.

Best film: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Honourable mention (if such are allowed): The Chronicles of Riddick
"But there's no story past Episode VI, there's just no story. It's a certain story about Anakin Skywalker and once Anakin Skywalker dies, that's kind of the end of the story. There is no story about Luke Skywalker, I mean apart from the books."

I went back and forth on this a bit and I am going to go with Titan A.E. I belive it just barely beats Revenge of the Sith by virtue of not being only one piece of a larger story.

If you're all done...

I'm going to go out on a limb and vote for 28 Days Later (including 28 Weeks Later if accepting sequels).

Edit: for those curious Wikipedia has a useful yet incomplete list here

Bah, and here I thought there were a shitton of people voting all of a sudden :P

I really don't care too much whether or not you list a runner up, honorable mention, deserved an award just for showing up, etc. but as long as the post is short, concise and clearly states your actual vote. If it doesn't then your vote isn't counted; I don't have time to dig through your dissertation to find out your favorite popcorn flick :P

But here's how things stand thus far:
Revenge of the Sith: 6
District 9: 6
Children of Men: 5
Avatar: 3
Titan A.E.: 3
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 2
WALL-E 2
Serenity 2
Iron Man: 1
Moon: 1
28 Days Later: 1
Donnie Darko: 1
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

District 9
So I stare wistfully at the Lightning for a couple of minutes. Two missiles, sharply raked razor-thin wings, a huge, pregnant belly full of fuel, and the two screamingly powerful engines that once rammed it from a cold start to a thousand miles per hour in under a minute. Life would be so much easier if our adverseries could be dealt with by supersonic death on wings - but alas, Human resources aren't so easily defeated.

Titan A.E.

It beat Avatar due to the fact that it's had longer to be judged.

Just a week to go until the end of the month, and here are the results thus far:
District 9: 9
Children of Men: 8
Revenge of the Sith: 7
Titan A.E.: 5
Avatar: 3
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: 2
WALL-E: 2
Serenity: 2
Iron Man: 1
Moon: 1
28 Days Later: 1
Donnie Darko: 1
Star Trek: 1
Looks like a pretty close three-way split, unless all you Pluto Nash fans are just waiting to cast an 11th hour surprise :D
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas.

Children of Men.

I think District 9 and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are also worthy of mention.
