Looking for a specific MMR Autism link study

Post by JediToren »

I'm aware that over two dozen studies have been performed attempting to see if a link exists between the MMR vaccine and autism in the 12 years since the Wakefield study was published. These studies have failed to find a link.

Proponents of an MMR-Autism link denounce these studies as frauds perpetrated by the pharmaceutical industry.

However, I recall someone here mentioning that a study was performed or at least funded by one of the organizations that supported an MMR-Autism link, and that it also found no supporting evidence. As I recall, a number of families who participated in the study were outraged and withdrew their participation, medical records, etc. This rendered the study useless.

Try as I might, I can't locate any record of this study here or elsewhere on the interwebs.

Any help?

Ah, Wakefield's pathetic excuse for a finding.

First, a much needed dose of reality: He LIED.

Link

He 'fixed' the data.

Another Study Finds No MMR-Autism Link

One of the many disproving. The fact the Reuter's title uses 'Another Study' is a reminder.

Or you could've spent a few seconds entering 'Autism MMR Study' into Google...

Yeah, I already knew about the two dozen plus studies showing no link between autism and MMR, and I was also aware that Wakefield was full of shit, apparently so he could make room for his own measles vaccine by discrediting his biggest potential competitor (ironic given the accusations that Big Pharma is suppressing evidence to protect their own profits).

Of course, the studies will never convince the believers, and many fence sitters find arguments for a Big Pharma cover-up persuasive.

A few years back someone on this board mentioned that one of those "MMR = Autism" parents' groups decided to do their own study, and ended up confirming everyone else's results: i.e. no link between autism and the MMR vaccine was found.

I haven't been able to find this post or any information on a study like that. I figure that it would be pretty damning evidence and be useful in convincing the fence sitters since the usual charge of lies and conspiracy wouldn't apply here.

You are maybe thinking of the O'Leary lab. Wakefield used him during his poorly executed measles in the gut study. O'Leary and his lab tried to replicate the results and ended up finding that they could not.

If you are thinking of the Generation Rescue "phone survery" that ended up showing the opposite of what they set out to show, you can find that here:

a deconstruction of the actual numbers yields something different than Generation Rescue actually claimed:

Have they seriously concluded that if there's a 1% increase in autism cases amongst vaccinated boys (from 2 to 3%), it means you're 61% more likely to have autism if vaccinated?

This has to be a joke, mangs. Just has to.
