DS9 Review - "Blaze of Glory".

Post by Big Orange »

A bit bellated and I haven't seen it properly to comment yet, but here's a follow up to DS9's "For the Uniform":

'Alright guard, begin the unnecessarily slow moving dipping mechanism...' - Dr. Evil

'Secondly, I don't see why "income inequality" is a bad thing. Poverty is not an injustice. There is no such thing as causes for poverty, only causes for wealth. Poverty is not a wrong, but taking money from those who have it to equalize incomes is basically theft, which is wrong.' - Typical Randroid

'I think it's gone a little bit wrong.' - The Doctor

Nice review as usual.

While "For the Uniform" is my favorite installment in the Eddington trilogy, I always thought this was a nice epilogue -- even with the Nog B-story.

I agree with your asseement of the runabout arguement. It's stiill one of my favorite DS9 scenes. I always liked it because, as you pointed out, both men were right in their way. Eddington was correct that Sisko's conflict with the Maquis was never professional; it was always personal because of Cal Hudson's actions in Season 2. Sisko, in turn, was right that Eddington's ego helped sell the Maquis on a pipe dream and that their actions helped push the Cardasssians into the arms of the Dominion.

Also, the scene of Quark in the Infirmary is still one of the funniest bits of DS9. :)
