The future of the federation

Post by Dooey Jo »

I've seen some Trekkies that wants the SW vs ST war to be some 24 600 years after VOY. Why do they want this?
We all know that, in the year 3000, the Psychlons (from Battlefield Earth) comes and enslaves the earth, and if the Federation couldn't stop then (the Psychlons didn't have very powerful weapons. Gasmissiles made Earth surrender), even after 600 years of development. And a few hundred years after that, the Energy Aliens (from Titan AE) destroyed Earth completely. A destroyed Earth means no Federation. You might wonder why the Vulcans or the Klingon or Q or someone else didn't help the poor Federation from the Psychlons and Energy Aliens, this beacause:
1. They didn't care that much for the federation after all...
or
2. They too were destroyed

From this we can figure out that Federation will not exist when those 24 600 years have passed so the Trekkies really has no choice but to fight the SwvsST war before someone else comes and kills them all.

Right?

To the Grand Admiral:
They might be, but then again, we haven't seen any newer ships in Trek than that "time-cop"-ship from the 29th century in VOY. Why did it come from the 29th century? Because after that, the federation is no more. Killed by an alien species from a purple planet with John Travolta as one of thier leaders.

And remeber that this is not a very serious post, it's just a thought.

Actually Gene originally intended them to become the 'Federated Commonwealth' in Andromeda, but he eventually changed his mind and made it a seperate story.

Given the tech progression of the Feddies, the future for them is the bronze age.

SirNitram: Those tomatoes were before the federation, weren't they? Like the giant ants and King Kong and all other classics.

Ender: That's my point, they advance backwards and one day they're so low-tech that they're using projectile weapons and jet-fighters. Hmm, maybe they find out that one actually do die when using a transporter and they forbid it. Perhaps they begin to notice that those "plasma-conduits" were not all that great after all (they do explode all the time, killing lots of good crewmen) and replaces them with ordinary electric wires instead. And when by the time the Psychlons from Psychlo comes, they have replaced every piece of hi-tech they had with 21th century low-tech.

They're giant time-travelling killer tomatos. With Phase in there somewhere.

OF COURSE! Thats why the Federation are a bunch of peace loving pillocks whose balls dropped off.

They couldn't stomach the Judges no more! After living in a society of harsh justice they decided enough was enough and tried the peace loving namby pamby alternative. An alternative with no more random crime blitzs, no more years in the iso-cubes for stealing from your mothers purse, no more Judge Dredd and you will be allowed to spit in the street again!

So, Andromeda was suppose to be a follow-up to Star Trek?

Dillion as a starfleet captain
The Nietiens were Khan's decendents

But WOK script came up and he approved, so he changed andromeda to a seperate universe.

I read some of the original stuff he wrote for it, Dillio comes out a lot like early Sisko, he blows stuff up then whines about the morallity of it for 5 min.
His original vision sucked ass, but the rewrite after WOK is closer to what we have now.

Whew. I could see TOS becoming the Systems Commonwealth, but not Star Trek the way it is now. "We believe in peace and understanding, and never fire first...but we'll keep the nova bombs on board just in case we need them."

Well by the 29th century the Federation can travel through time on a whim. I'd like to know how many more thousands of years it'd take the Empire. :)

Incase you don't notice Time-travel has the side effect of TACFU(Total and complete Fuck-up) of the general Area, Time travel is Handy but when you are slowying destroying Space time well,,,,,

Besides SW already has Armor Capable of Withstanding 200GT+ Blasts for seemingly Hours, The Kinetic Equivlant of running to a Brick wall at five Thousand Miles and Hour and more (Quantum Armor) Wahada need time Travel For? :D
