Wtf? Tattooing a baby is seriously fucked up. I hope this moron gets the maximum penalty. (Yes, I'm aware that the article contains little other facts, like where the mother was. Couldn't find a better source yet).Ohio man accused of tattooing tot’s rear end
Police say no evidence mom OK’d imprint of an “A” on child last November
LOUISVILLE, Ohio - Police say an Ohio man tattooed the letter "A" on the rear end of a 1-year-old girl visiting his home.
Lee Deitrick, 20, of Louisville was arraigned Wednesday on a felony child endangering charge in Canton Municipal Court.
Authorities say there was no evidence the toddler's mother permitted the November tattooing. It was not clear what the letter "A" signified.
Deitrick's grandmother called the tattoo "a wee-little hairline" and said there was hardly anything left of it. Louisville Police Chief Andrew Turowski said the tattoo is smaller than a dime.
A message seeking comment was left at the office of Deitrick's attorney after the arraignment.
Bond was set at $250,000. If convicted, Deitrick could face up to five years in prison.

You know. . .this begs a lot of questions. Like what the fuck the girl was doing there in the first place? Where the fuck was her mother while she was getting the tattoo? Was this really a case of the mother not giving consent, or buyer's remorse?

You have to wonder what the hell the tattoo artist was thinking, too. I've known quite a few who won't tattoo a minor even with parental consent just because of the potential headaches.

Reading the article, it sounds like the guy did the tattoo himself at home. Still mindbogglingly stupid, and the fact his grandmother tried to blow it off makes meBroomstick wrote:You have to wonder what the hell the tattoo artist was thinking, too. The Article isn't very clear but from what I can gather from it the mother left the baby in either the care of the man or the grandmother and then he used his own tatoo pen to make the tatoo.

Horrible enough, but a pair of real geniuses in Georgia tattooed SIX children this past January with homemade equipment:
I don't know about most people, but I would never entertain a moment's thought of doing this, to any child, for any reason. Ever.Couple Arrested For Tattooing Children

A Georgia couple is out of jail on bond after being arrested for tattooing six of their children.
Investigators say they put their children in danger, but they say they did nothing wrong.
Investigators said a plastic pen body with a needle made of a guitar string connected to an electric motor was used to tattoo the six children.
"It's a painful procedure with a crude instrument," said Chattooga County Sheriff John Everett.
Sheriff Everett said five children got a cross like tattoo on their hands, the oldest boy, a tattoo of "mom and dad' on his arm.
Sheriff Everett continued "7-years-old to 17. The 7-year-old's the one that didn't' receive a tattoo. They determined he was too young."
"I'm not breaking their skin, it's right there, it's going to fade away. It's like a pen mark," said the children’s mother PattyJo Marsh.
Sheriff Everett said investigators came after receiving a complaint from the biological mother of two of the children complaining about the tattoos.
Patty Marsh and her husband are charged with three counts each of illegal tattooing, second degree child cruelty and reckless conduct.
The Sheriff said he's concerned if the same guitar string needle was used each time.
"The guitar string that you use in the homemade gun we changed it out every time," said Marsh.
"We didn't do anything wrong. I still don't think we did anything wrong," she continued.

This guy would have to be a real fucking retard to do this without some sort of consent. I know a lot of tattoo artists. This is not something they would do without an OK. This is usually their lively hood and they don't take fucking it up lightly.

I'll join you in that bet. As far as we know this guy didn't even use a real tattoo pen but an improvised one. If he did that that makes it even worse as the chance has just gone way up for this to get infected to boot.General Zod wrote:I'm willing to lay money on the idea that he wasn't any kind of professional tattoo artist.

You are confusing the two articles. Only the couple is for sure to have used an improvised gun.

20? Yeah, definitely. I don't know if it's the standard, but the place I go to get marked has very strict procedures. No tattoos on anyone under sixteen, no exceptions. 16 to 18 only with signed and present parental consent. Everyone has to sign a medical release form. And no one of the mere age of 20 would be doing any work on anyone without an older 'mentor' watching over it to make sure everything's going okay.

Re: Ohio man accused of tattooing 1-year girl
I found an article about the clown in the OP from what appears to be a local paper:
Seems like there is a whole lot of Stupid to go around in this situation, at the very least.
I also willing to bet that not only was this joker not a professional tattoo artist, he's probably not a professional anything.
So was the 16 year-old with the child when the tattoo was applied? I bet that kid was screaming her head off, so if she was really baby sitting, she wasn't paying attention. If it was up to a social worker (WHY is there a social worker involved in this case??? Let me guess...) to find out about this and not the sitter, well, the sitter is really not paying attention, or she is involved.By Malcolm Hall

LOUISVILLE —
A 20-year-old man who police say put a tattoo on the rear end of a 1-year-old girl is facing a felony child endangering charge.
Lee. M. Deitrick is accused of applying the tattoo in early November while the child was visiting his home at 1317 W. Main St.
The tattoo, which is the letter “A,” could not be removed, according to a complaint police filed with Canton Municipal Court.
The child was brought to the home by a female relative, according to Police Chief Andrew Turowski. Deitrick is not the girl’s father, the chief said.
It was not clear why the child was given a tattoo or what the “A” signifies.
“It is hard to fathom why someone would try to do that,” Turowski said. “It was at his residence. The female relative was the only one with the child, so I guess it is safe to say she was baby-sitting. I would not call her a suspect at this time.”
Stark County Department of Job and Family Services social workers notified police of the tattoo.
A woman identifying herself as Deitrick’s grandmother, with whom he lives, recalls the infant’s 16-year-old aunt being the one who was with the girl when the tattoo was applied.
“It is only like a wee-little hairline,” Linda Texter said. “I just know there is barely anything left. I think it is awful that it happened.”
The child and her mother are Canton residents, according to Texter.
“We have nothing to suggest the mother gave permission to do it (apply the tattoo),” Turowski said.
Deitrick, as of Tuesday, was in the Stark County Jail under a probation hold.
The endangering charge is a third-degree felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.
Seems like there is a whole lot of Stupid to go around in this situation, at the very least.
I also willing to bet that not only was this joker not a professional tattoo artist, he's probably not a professional anything.

I'm wondering if it's not an "A" but an anarchy symbol, like:
