Actually, ver, Janus was from Roman myth. I've never seen him in any stories, though, so I guess he was originally Etruscan.

Zaia, there was a Janus in the Narnia books? I don't remember reading that. Although my memory could be, and probably is, slipping.

I do believe there was an IIRC in there somewhere... besides, I'm not all that big on Roman myths, for one, and for two, it's been a while since I last studied Janus.

In The Magician's Nephew (the one about the creation of Narnia and the rest of that world)--she's the witch that Diggory and Polly wake up in another world, before stumbling into Narnia. There's a bell with a hammer or something, and a whole bunch of people at a table who are frozen in time or something (they all look like wax statues, anyway), and Diggory hits the bell, and she wakes up and ends up back in England with them and wreaks havoc all over London, and then they end up witnessing the creation of Narnia...

Oh, was that her name? I always just referred to her has the white-witch-to-be.

IIRC, -chan isn't just used for a subordinate, but in general for someone you love. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.
