Trailer for Chris Nolan's Inception

Seems interesting.
Humans are such funny creatures. We are selfish about selflessness, yet we can love something so much that we can hate something.

Isn't it at least customary for a trailer to explain what, in general terms, the film will be about?

The inital description of the movie is even more confusing.
A sci-fi movie set within the architecture of the mind

No, it's customary for a trailer to try to generate interest. Sometimes they explain absolutely nothing, i.e. cloverfield, this.

I have no clue what this will be about. It seems like some kind of cyberpunk thing, and the Nolan name infers quality writing/directing. But I'll wait until more details come out before I say anything more.
A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.

At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.

The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'

'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'

Since it is many months before the movie is actually shown, I think they should orbital bombard those warped subjective perceptions of reality with Tunguska-yield asteroids, so that the good bad guys win.

On that note, this being a Nolan film and with the lovely and dreamy Leonardo DiCaprio in it, I am interested in the movie very much. Most of Leo's flicks are pretty awesome, though I haven't seen his latest one with the mental hospital nuersing.

Does he die in this movie too? :D

I'm just jumping to conclusions here but I think this is going to be about lucid dreaming, the clue being when Ellen Pages character shouts "Wake me up, Wake me up".

Just based on Nollan's involvement, I'll give it a shot. Of the three Nolan movies I've seen so far, I was quite impressed by two, and by The Dark Knight especially (though in fairness a lot of that was based on Heath Ledger's acting).

I was told The Dork Knight was one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces ever made. The movie did not live up to my expectation. It was so boring that if someone without access to hype or internet had seen it they would have turned it off half way through. I had like to hope this movie is going to be great. But most likely its going to be another cinematic turd polished like a diamond.

What, why? I mean, even if The Dark Knight wasn't super-shit awesome, it was still a decent movie and NOT a polished turd unlike most of Hollywood's crap. To me, at least, Nolan seems like a competent director and he's always got a good cast (with the likes of Bale and Micheal Caine being regulars, and Caprio being a very good actor) and his movies have been pretty neat. Why the cynicism, Sarevok? Do you not like the director and think his movies are a bunch of cinematic turds shat out after Nolan took too much fiber supplements? Or is it because the trailer was too short and did not give the plot or anything away? :(

How do you explain how I didn't turn off my TV when I watched it in my prison cell, without having access to the hype or the internet?

Maybe your experience is singular, and therefore doesn't necessarily apply to everyone else.

I agree it was over-hyped and not as good as the reviews said, but I still enjoyed it the first time, and I warmed up to it more on subsequent viewings.

Well yes I have favorite movies everyone else will find awful. There are no objective reasons to justify why x movie is good. But the thing about Dark Knight was that I really bought the hype that this going to be one of those films like Star Wars, Terminator 2 or Lord of the Rings. If there was not as much overblown marketing surrounding TDKs release I would have forgotten it like another medicore film but disappointment after anticipating something a lot leaves a bitter taste.

I like Nolan's work - my favorite movie of his isn't The Dark Knight, its the Prestige. Way cooler movie, and the only movie where Hugh Jackman doesn't annoy me.

But yeah, this trailer still looks like a big wank.
