Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
Yup. The whole Aegis Militia Clusterfuck started because they encountered a bug that would not let them re-anchor TCU's after they reformed their alliance. That allowed UK to come and try and Vulture the space, which they in turn couldn't hold.
The way I see it, CVA is going to lose. Why?
1/ Retarded howler monkies at the top of the leadership who believe reforming alliances during a fucking time of war is a good idea.
2/ Sov bug.
3/ CCP acting like the retarded red-haired step child when it comes to fleet fights. They continually persist in the notion that their system can handle more than a few hundred people shooting a few hundred people more, when it clearly cannot. Ten minute lag between actions is not 'handling' it.
So while CVA are indeed a bunch of tools, they aren't solely to blame for the recent epic fails.

Anyways, does Providence have any of those new fangled moons? The move in to grab Geminate was for the new moon goo bottlekneck and supposedly Providence as well, if they have it then in theory pushing CVA out would be worth it just for those moons.

Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
The supposed moongoo bottleneck seems to largely be hype. I know a couple of people who got seriously burned from buying up a shitload of technetium or whatever the new bottleneck goo is only to have the market not jump in price like they expected. So far, haven't seen any real interest in the moons in Providence other than as staging points for Titans as an ad hoc JB network.Blayne wrote:Anyways, does Providence have any of those new fangled moons? Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
The Mitanni was wrong about the moons not being worth as they should be?! Omgz!
Is it possible though that the market hasn't been given sufficient time though to adjust to the change? Or is this soemthing that should have been immediate with Dominion?

Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
You'd have to ask someone more knowledgable in T2/T3 production then I am, but from what I can tell the change really wasn't that big and the mid level moons were plentiful enough that the bottleneck never actually happened. Wasn't just Mittens who got it wrong, this is one were even CCP didn't expect the outcome.

Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
Ghetto Edit: To expand on this, it wouldn't at all be the first time that the outcome CCP and a lot of players predicted from a patch was radically different then the actual post patch outcome. A perfect example of this is the predicted increase in use of afterburner modules after the speed nerf a few years ago. It never happened, because despite the changes, and the upgrade to warp scramblers causing MWDs to shut off, the sheer speed advantage from MWDs far outweighed any disadvantages. So post speed nerf afterburners are still the provice of mission runners, only used by PvP pilots for very spefici fits or because they lack the PG or CPU to fit an MWD and still wanted some sort of speed boost to try and escape bubbles.
Fun thing I noticed though. MWDs don't work in mission deadspace, but they work fine in 0.0 deadspace pirate complexes. Fucking odd...

Might just be a very delayed effect. Everyone buying up huge piles of technetium hoping to make a fortune means that there's still huge piles of it lying around.

Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
If anything, having large stock piles of it would cause a drop in prices as either peopel will start playing the .01ISK less game on the market if they don't dump sell it outright, or they won't buy any for a while or at all because they've already got a large stock pile and a steady supply of the stuff.Losonti Tokash wrote:Might just be a very delayed effect. Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
Yeah, that's what I meant to say. It'll be a while before it starts running low and I think most speculators will lose interest and just dump their stock before that happens, which of course just keeps it going longer.Mr. Coffee wrote:If anything, having large stock piles of it would cause a drop in prices as either peopel will start playing the .01ISK less game on the market if they don't dump sell it outright, or they won't buy any for a while or at all because they've already got a large stock pile and a steady supply of the stuff.Losonti Tokash wrote:Might just be a very delayed effect. Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
Well, sometimes the predictions are right. Like the predicted fall in prices of Navy Issue Raven battleships when they announced the missile nerf. Nerf bat got swung and sure enough, the prices fell, but mainly because people were dumping the ships out of fear of what they thought the missile nerf might do, and not because of what it actually did. Even post nerf the CNR was one of the best platforms there was for grinding level four missions, but the price for them dropped around 40-45% of their pre-nerf prices. Even though that nerf happened over a year ago, prices for CNRs only got back up to their previous levels in the last couple of months.
This is why whenever I see people jumping band wagons for items when a nerf is declared or some other item/mechanic is about to change for people to just adopt a "wait and see" approach. Though I did make a killing on faction/deadspace MWDs from buying them up before the nerf when everyone panic sold and after the nerf bat swung the prices bounded right back up to where they were.
tl;dr version: people in Jita are fucking morons.

Particularly the Genos pirate corp -7- have recruited recently. I'd love to know what carrot they dangled in front of those guys.Mr. Coffee wrote:Dude, trying to take all of providence would 1. take to damned long, 2. take way to much isk, and 3. would essentially require the people doing the invading leave their home region/s pretty much undefended. That last one seems to be the reasoning behind the latest CVA/Holders fleet doctrine of increasing the roaming gang operations in Catch in both number of gangs and tempo of them operating. We're hilariously good at that sort of thing, not so much at the big capship massive lagfests. So I guess for once the guys in charge are remembering to play to our strengths,
I don't see how attacking Provi will leave Catch undefended though, given that it's literally next door. You don't have to be in a system 24/7 to besiege it, just for each reinforcement timer.

I think the Genos guys are serious about the whole "good fights" thing. It's that or this is some sort of convoluted plot to sucker punch -7-.GuppyShark wrote:Particularly the Genos pirate corp -7- have recruited recently. I'd love to know what carrot they dangled in front of those guys.
Well, it's mostly that while they're playing alarm clock ops and waiting on timers, we'll be running around catch raping anything that moves. Probably wouldn't stop them from taking a system, but it's pain in the ass for logistics.GuppyShark wrote:I don't see how attacking Provi will leave Catch undefended though, given that it's literally next door. Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
Well, while I'm grinding missions so I can set up a jump clone to protect my "precious" (well, not really yet) implants I discovered the laziness and scaredness of people, leading to a nice increase in ISK thanks to skillbooks I buy from 3 jumps into low sec and sell at my current high sec hq It's amazing really, people pay 3 or 4 times for a newbie skillbook because they're too afraid to take 3 jumps through relatively empty low sec systems. I like it, because hauling them around in a shuttle is quickly done.
As soon as my standing allows for a JC I'll be moving into our corps 0.0 headquarters, I'm already stocking up on modules and cheap frigs and cruisers to be jump-hauled and I'm looking forward to being blown to hell and back Actually, while the corp I'm in doesn't hold own territory we're blue with some of the bigger players in the vicinity, and apparently there's already plenty of minor fleet action going on, and I'm very eager to finally join in the real fun.

I will as soon as those missing 3.68 standing with RF are in
But grinding standings is kinda bearable when fleeting up and leeching off level 4 running battleship pilots.

Setting the record straight here: nope, I did it of my own free will. I think Blayne is a worthless troll and idiot, and every post he makes is just painful to read. I contacted his CEO to try to get him kicked from his corp the easy way because some CEOs really are that spineless, and why waste time station camping him when I don't have to?. I was going to war dec him and kill him the hard way, but I decided I have much better things to do with my life and just dropped the whole thing.
So yeah, I'd say "lying shithead" is a pretty accurate description.
Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
 We get biweekly dows by Privateers Alliance and Atropals nothing your whateverman empire gank corp can or could do anyways that they already couldn't and can't.
Anyways moving on to more important matters:
Delve-Period Basis-Querious is divided between -A-, Systematic-Chaos and Legiunea ROmana (wtf is witht hat name?) I'm curious as to what -A- is doing with bits of Querious my guess is payment for their help of IT.
Up North in Fountain its IT with the lionshare followed by Blast Star Alliance with the best constellation (Minotaur), HUN Reloadd and Asterius.
Nothing much in CVA space right now, UK and CVA seem to be just exchanging a few systems.

That should change soon, the bug with the UK/AM sovereignty turnstile every few minutes is expected to be fixed in the next downtime.
Legiunea Romana are a romanian alliance. Presumably the alliance creator held down shift one character too many. And since the only way to change the name of an alliance is to disband it and form a completely new one, they probably decided it wasn't worthwhile.

I've officially excised the portions of this thread that were basically Blayne vs. Everyone to the HoS. With that, this thread will be about discussions of what's going on in Eve, and the HoS will be for discussions about what's going on with Blayne.
It's a clumsy split, but I dare anyone to give a shit.

Re: EVE-Online Dominion, who wishes to play?
I reactivated my eve account yesterday, after a 3 month hiatus. Well that isn't exactly true, my wife reactivated it after she saw me in my 'bored' state, and it was that or start with the divorce papers.
I seem to be on the other side of Mr. Coffee, I am a member of Ushra Khan, after being in Proviblock for nearly a year.
It's good to be back, but so much has changed since late November, I dont' know how those battles went down or what happened in Providence but CVA is not what they used to be. I did a little tour around the neighborhood and VVA chased me like a rabid dog, CVA not so much. I honestly don't know how Slyph still exists, they have a little enclave still left in Catch with a jumpbridge to some alternate dimension or something.
Someone named Jason Marshall left Aegis Militia last night and joined up with UK, not sure exactly who he is but I heard he was a CEO or something in Aegis. I do know there was quite a lot of excitement about the news on Teamspeak, shock and awe abound.
