Archie Goodwin looks very good, Publius, as does eeyore. With monk, I think the face is not quite as long as it should be, but he is easily recognizable and his clothing is just perfect.

Bolitho and Bumppo - how great. Two of my favorite characters and you draw them so well. :)

"Gentlemen, Behold!" has now been expanded to include Natty Bumppo/Hawkeye/Deerslayer/Pathfinder, Scaramouche, Bloody Jacky Faber, Benjamin Martin, the Scarlet Pimpernel, Lucky Jack Aubrey, Richard Sharpe, Horatio Hornblower, the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, Zorro, the Count of Monte-Cristo, the Daring Dragoon, and Richard Bolitho. What do you think of including Captain Jack Sparrow or Elizabeth Swann?

If you're going to have the guy from "The Patriot", you might as well put in Jack Sparrow.

Maybe add Sparrow in this one and leave Elizabeth for a future female composition of the same era?

New Soviet Man is the Soviet counterpart to America's Captain America and Germany's Red Skull. Not much background in place for him yet -- presumably, like Cap, it is actually a position held by several men over the years, and very likely the USSR had many more New Soviet Men than there have been Captains America.

Note that those are not wings on his mask; rather, they are grain wrapped in red ribbon, à la Soviet coat of arms.

Woah. Was there a REAL Captain USSR? I mean, in the comics. Or is this an original creation?

He is an original creation. Some of the backstory is that Stalin would go on to claim that Captain America is in fact a capitalist imitation of New Soviet Man.

If you're up on the books you could also put Shelby in a First Contact-style Admiral's uniform, I believe she's a one-star now.

I prefer your naval characters to everything else except the SW stuff, Publius. Your style of drawing the face is very well suited to that.

I always think of Paul Bettany when I see the name of Maturin.

And I second Thanas's opinion of your characters. Bel Riose is pretty fucking sweet though.
