I don't believe you, and neither does Blizzards marketing department. Starcraft 2 will sell by truckloads regardless of bitching, setting the genre back another decade.

Of course truckloads of idiots are going to buy it on opening day. The entire nation of South Korea will likely be thrown into economic chaos by people skipping work, assuming they don't declare it a national holiday. What i'm saying is that i'm going to wait until a majority of reviews come out, and see if they think it's got enough content to warrant buying at full price. If not, i'll just wait until it comes down.

The other more hilarious possibility of course, is that Korea boycotts Starcraft 2 and bankrupts Blizzard as a result.

I also think it's foolish to trust reviewers, given that they aren't able to write impartially anyway. The only ones who even bitch about games are the comedy anti-reviewers who spew bile and claim confusion because it's funny, not because it's accurate.

Obviously I'm going to take professional reviewers with a grain of salt, they're about as credible as the republican party. I'm gonna wait until the user reviews come in on gamespot, read a bunch, read a bunch of the professional reviews, and see what the majority of them say about the single player campaign. If it's mostly good, I might pick it up, if it's mostly bad or mediocre, i'll wait a while.

User rewiews on Gamespot? Jesus.

I'll be very surprised if anyone has anything to say about the story (pacing, continuiity etc) in any review.

They'll say it's "compelling".

Perhaps they'll say it's the 'wild ride' fans had been waiting for.

Fuck I hate gonzo game writing.

Laughable, I've heard that they took away everything that made the new Protoss Mothership different and turned it into a fat Arbiter.

Hooray for regression?
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

Does it still have the three different superweapons?

Currently, the SC2 Wiki reports it as being able to:

1. Passively cloak nearby friendly units. Like the Arbiter.
2. Recall units from one part of the map to its location. Like the Arbiter.
3. Remove all units in a small area from play for 30 seconds. Like the Arbiter's stasis field, except units can enter the zone after it's been created & be affected.

So yeah, pretty much what Balrog said :P .

The hell? Wasn't it supposed to have some sort of Independence Day-style beam weapon or something?

Too powerful I think. I know that they removed alot of the powers displayed in the demo for that reason.

Shit, wouldn't want to do anything innovative or anything.

I played an early demo at Gen Con 2 years ago and the mothership was quite fun, too bad they nerfed the shit out of it.

This is Blizzard... The battlechest for War3 is still 30-40 bucks, the Burning Crusade expansion for WoW is still $30, (base-game being $40, and the battlechest also being $40, but only containing WoW+BC... With WotLK being $40.)

Blizzard does not do "expansion pack price." And with Activision puppeteering their rancid corpse now...
