Dear God that's funny shit. Maybe this guy should take a look at your average US infantryman today and see just how "primitive" he is.

That's interesting. I've never heard of a nation holding its own without anybody to capture and garrison territory before.

Army? Who needs an army? Now when we defeat enemy forces with phlasers, we use a giant magic marker and write "MINE" on the territory.

It seems that some fucker on that board got frustrated at me and now tries to use the name i use there to make me look bad, well otherwise a good try but since he doesnt know how i post and the e-mail showed on his profile is not the same that i left there, he doesnt even know HOW to imitate me.Gotta figure out something nasty for that motherfucker.

Im pretty sure its Pepito, only he pulls off stunts like this and only he is stupid enough.

As a minor aside, I just changed the thread topic so people would recognize that we're not actually talking about Darkstar, but this "Relytdrol" person and his stomping grounds on MSN.

Yes. Note that his "stomping grounds," are also the source of the infamously stupid troll, "Spaceluigi."

Mike, did either of the E-mails for "relytdrol" posted by Ender and myself earlier in this thread ever work?

Like many idiots, he assumes that his level of intelligence is comparable to that of the general population AND to members of the intellectual elite. Thus, he assumed that because the oh-so-clever disguise would have worked on him, it would also work on anyone else.

Good. If that's his "reasoning", then explain to him that a phaser rifle must be a projectile weapon with grooves cut into the barrel, because it's called a "rifle". Also point out that since the TM makes reference to blueprints, they must be using vellum paper and ammonia-based drawing reproduction methods (since that's where the term "blueprint" came from), so they haven't yet discovered photocopiers. Moreover, point out that all of the gravitic bullshit with respect to impulse drive is obviously wrong, since an "impulse" drive must function on purely Newtonian principles. And finally, point out that a photon torpedo must be a laser because photons are pure light, and a photon torpedo must therefore be made of photons.
Don't forget to mention what a Star Destroyer would be capable of by that kind of reasoning. The "Turbolaser=laser" myth acctually makes SW more powerful, just think of the Galaxy Gun :twisted::twisted:

Master of Ossus wrote:Here's another good "Pepito" quote:
There are sooooo many reasons that ST would kick the crap out of SW. I have a few major points:
The Federation-A group of over 150 planets and races with ships from all corners of the quadrant
The Borg-Thousands of deferent species all molded together to form a race that is harded to so many things, with colossal ships and superior weaponry
Species 8472-A race even more powerful than the borg, they cannot be destroyed nor killed except by modified borg nanoprobes in weaponry-something that doesn't exist in SW
The Dominion-Like the Federation, practically the entire Gamma Quadrant allied together, they signed a treaty with the Federation
The Caretakers-Beings with infinate power that can mold entire civilizations, or destroy them instantly...lucky for everyone, they're just explorers

The SW galaxy has what? Flashing lights called 'laz-ers'? Whatever. Don't get me wrong, I like SW on it's own, but ST just plainly has superior technology and powers.
Yes, but these "lasers" have not demonstated any of the chracteristics of lasers, with the most powerful being able to blow up a planet.

Also, it's not like all of the groups in ST will form one alliance agianst the Empire. If anyone spews this type of nonsense, then they should come here and defend their points against us. We can send them a message challenging them to do so, or something like that.

Now, did I park the dog, or did I just take her to the dog park? All I know is that, when I want a milkshake, I buy a gallon of milk and... I went to get some rebar but they charged me twice for it. I wanted some spare parts, but all the junkyard has is a cubic meter of junk. So I couldn't fix my spare. A basketball hoop fell into my car's sunroof, so now I have to turn the headlights on all the time. Now about those dough nuts--

I've always been curious about something. Is the vs. community that's centered on ASVS, SD.net, and Spacebattles, where the combatants are all pretty much familiar with the work of Wong, Poe, Young, Saxton, et. al., and pretty much familiar with each other as well, the mainline debate community, or are there other, parallel communities out there that have no real idea that this one exists. Not just individual sites or boards, but an entire Internet community with the same vitality as this one and the same purpose but existing completely seperately.

Kind of like a parallel universe? If there is, how would we know about it? :)

First, there is The Furry Conflict, which I was kicked off of. It was the first forum I was in and I didn't know any better. After seeing the calcks you guys did, I found out that the have screwed the Warises over. Plus, they altered the story so much it isn't even funny. Don't go there. They are literally a bunch of hippies in terms of the vs community because they don't like flamewars and they kick you out if you try to argue back. But the site is well done and the owner tried to help me out so its not all bad.

I don't particularly have a problem with TFC because they recognize that they're silly and make NO attempts to honor the different technology levels between the two sides. They make no effort to be "accurate," and are merely out to have fun.

I personally don't post much, but I lurk alot, and as far as I can tell, the ASVS/SD.net/Spacebattles community is the "main" one. Ther are plenty of other, little single or double board communitys, Like the MSN one Rightous Fist Of Heaven and myself post on, mentioned earlier, and some that used to be active on yahoo (before they mutilated them into "groups") where Southis used to post. They all know seem to know about this community, but are to small to be taken notice of by this group, except on rare occasions like this.

Heh. Believe it or not, I learned about ASVS thanks to Yahoo! Internet Magazine (is it still being published?) back in 1998 or so. I wish I could find that issue now...
