SGU Season 1 DVD Set Coming in 2011

The second half of Stargate Universe Season One is about to hit TV screens around the world, with early April premieres in the United States (April 2), Canada (April 2), Australia (April 9) and the U.K. (April 13). But when do I get to own it?

“Season 1.5″ will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray on July 13, the new issue of The Official Stargate Magazine (March/April 2010) is reporting (via TVShowsOnDVD.com). That’s in North America, at least, and it’s just a few weeks after the broadcast of the season finale on Syfy Channel (which we’re estimating at June 11, accounting for one Friday off for Memorial Day weekend).

“Season 1.0″ including the first 10 episodes plus bonus features, was released in February.

The magazine also reports that the studio will indeed release a complete season set, sometime in 2011.

In the U.K. (DVD Region 2), the full season is due out on July 5. Fans can pre-order it now at Amazon.co.uk. There are no half-season releases of SGU for the U.K.

Note that MGM and Fox Home Entertainment have not officially announced the U.S. releases, so the date and details are subject to change.

I've been trying to find a bluray release for that UK release but I can't which makes me think we're getting screwed over in that regard.
