Mike, will you be recognizing anyone who makes a significantly large donation? With titles or things like that?
That aside, since I'm an older and married sort of fellow and a long-time participant I figure I will grab my wife's purse at the earliest opportunity and Do My Part.

What? Someone making a donation just to gain recognition? I am shocked and appalled.Lagmonster wrote:Mike, will you be recognizing anyone who makes a significantly large donation? With titles or things like that?
Oh, BTW, I just contributed $10. Enjoy.

Interesting idea; I hadn't thought about that (this was not elaborately planned, as I'm sure you can all tell by now ).

Yeah, it was part of what was done on GundamWatch regarding donations. It listed them using their real names, too, BTW.
Donating members also got the option of being able to edit and delete their posts in any forum, but I don't think anything other then a Donaters List should be done here.

What about a subscription service? Perhaps people who donate more than, say, a dollar a month receive a special...thing, like an e-mail address or a few megs of webhosting for images and whatnot. The admin on another board I frequent implemented such a system about a year ago, and he's managed to completely cover costs with subcriptions. I'm fairly sure Paypal can set up the financial end such a service (like monthly/yearly billing plans), all you'd need to do is set up the bonus stuff for subscribers.

That was my namesake, Spanky the Dolphin (notice that his "the" is lowercased), from the Nintendo64 game Aerofighters Assault.

I like the idea of a contributers list, but only as long as donations could still remain anonymous for those who wish it. Sometimes it's nice to do a good deed and not be recognized for it, ya know?

That was a damn good game. I loved the multiplayer. It was much better than the StarFox multiplayer. I ruled the skies with my F-14 against my friends. Lots of fun, that was...Spanky The Dolphin wrote:You're damn right it is!!

Probably not. I would know that I did it, and Mike would know as well, and for me, that's all that matters. I don't see anything at all wrong if someone would like to be recognized for supporting this board (in fact it's kind of cool, like a mission patch on a leather jacket), but I prefer to do nice things in anonyminity (sp?).ArmorPierce wrote:You'd rather not get recognized?Drewcifer wrote:I like the idea of a contributers list, but only as long as donations could still remain anonymous for those who wish it. Why not ask the people who donated what they think? Really, how many people have made a contribution so far?
