Pirates sentenced to death for tanker hijacking

A Yemeni court has sentenced six Somali pirates to death for hijacking a Yemeni oil tanker and killing two cabin crew last year.

Another six pirates have received jail sentences of 10 years for their role in the hijacking.

Yemeni forces took control of the oil tanker, Qana, one day after the it was captured by pirates in April last year.

Hijackings off the Somali coast continue to be a problem, with 35 attacks taking place during the first three months of this year.

Seems relevant somehow. Though it is a problem, law enforcement is a solution to piracy that's being employed. I suppose the difference is this sentence was handed down by a court, where the Russians were just being Russian. Also, apparently in the above instance there were actually murders committed, not just piracy.
