Crud I forgot about her Anti-Jedi sentiments. Oh well.
The idea that the Clones are virtual slaves is actually a reasonable assertion, since they are for all intents and purposes precisely that. Maybe well treated slaves, or even well regarded, but still slaves (Do they really have any other choice other than to fight? It could be argued either way I suppose but I dont see much possibility against it.) Traviss as I recall even started touching on these ideas in Hard Contact, and that was one of the things I liked about that novel. However, in Traviss' later books the concept is presented in such an absolute, either/or manner that it becomes almost comical (and painful) to see and read.
Had she kept more of the ambiguity or "gray area" in the concept, been less "anti-Jedi/Pro Mando" and kept the clone numbers ambigutous (I'm fine with "millions" - its sufficiently vague for any purpose and I'm used to that sort of shit in a novel anyhow.) the novels would be much better, rather than "My way or not at all" as she actually turned out.
