Jarvis does say something along the lines of "using the suit is accelerating the poisoning process" when Stark checks his blood poisoning level for the first time in his workshop.

Yeah, I think I do remember that.
Shit, I need to go see this again.

Hell, they might have even supplied a villain with some common sense. All Vanko would have had to do to ruin Tony Stark at the Stark Expo was to have SOME of his Hammerdroids shoot up the crowds of innocent bystanders that were around. Even if Stark successfully stopped the Warmachine suit and mopped up the Hammerdroids, those things could have killed alot of people before Iron Man could really deal with them.
He actually did just that. The Navy Drones fired off a salvo of artillery missiles into a crouded area at the Expo.

And why the movie didn't show the effects of that? A few corpses are too much for a "family movie"?

Not to mention the kid who probably was still standing next to the disabled drone when it blew up...

Seriously, the drones were the best part of the film. They deserved better.

Probably yes. Seeing innocent people being blown to apart would have...altered the mood a bit, to say the least.

Doubtful. The 1st movie opens with an Army squad getting wasted pretty graphically. Didn't really effect the movie's mod at all.

It could also have kicked it up to an R rating, which I'm sure the studio wouldn't have accepted for this movie.

That scene was barely as graphic as an old James Bond flick. There is not one speck of blood shown as those troops went down. But that said, I think it was done more to keep the film from being rated R.

Trippin' dawg. There was blood splatter all over the windows as bullets and other explosive projectiles passed through them. Not to mention Stark's blood soaked body armor after he took shrapnel.

I would say they just didn't feel like shooting the scenes. If people don't think that some innocent people got hurt and killed in that scene, well I guess they are just retards.

It'd probably dampen the hell out of the Tony/Pepper scene at the end, when they look over and see hundreds of bodies strewn about. I imagine that's a reason enough for not bringing it up...

The marine's go down bloodlessly. So does everyone squish and exploded by the mark I. The only real blood in the film is the red that seeps through Tony's super deluxe hi-tech body armour when he gets blasted by his own mine.

Going back to the expo attack, weren't there a few shots of explosions, people screaming and falling down stairs after the drones started to attack the random people?

There were no corpses, but it isn't completely ignored.

Not disputing anything, just think it's funny that the last two people to mention that scene call the guys in Tony's convoy Army and Marines when they were obviously Air Force.

Obviously, because they were in desert camo riding around in a hummer convoy with the same exact gear the army or Marines would use? Oops I didn't pay attention to their arm patches.

The explosions happened far off and frankly, besides adding more gore showing dead bodies would have really contributed nothing to the flow of the action scene. Besides, we did not hear anyone say in a news report "fortunately no-one was hurt" or similar.

There is also the possibility that showing military members getting hurt in the line of duty is more palatable than watching civilians being killed at what is supposed to be an entertainment/information venue.
