True, but I'm sure that such a beautiful world will make them want to try and conquer it, not kill off all life. We can use that to our advantage. Centurion, meet M1A1 MBT.

1. Real World (2010)
2. Draka (2010)
3. Legacy of the Altadenta (2010)
4. Halo (2553)
5. Star Wars (0 ABY)
6. Star Trek (2379)
7. Starship Troopers (at end of novel)
8. Duneverse (as Leto II becomes Emperor)
9. Warhammer 40000 (current setting)

2. Draka get into fight with the Colonials because there is no Stirling the savior for them, and now the luck changes. So when the cylons get to earth they have already blown the colonials up or are fighting them. Cylons now must chase Colonials and make ready for a serious siege of the lost tribe, who are paranoid militaristic and fortified in the extreme.

3. Dunno if Eye of the Storm has occured or not. If yes they are on war footing and will swipe the cylons out of the sky. If not Darhel fuckery will bleed earthern navy pretty good. The cylons are beaten and colonials are an issue as they have A.I. uncontroled FTL. Seeing how the Navy acts in Eye of the Storm they may be very well blown out of the sky, if not for plucky heroes or deus ex.

4. Smart A.I. MAC. You can blink in where you want but basestars will be swated. It is the will of the profets. Colonials will gain protection from cylons - Covenant is a non isue as all humans must die, possibly even skinjobs- and UNSC and ONI get new super fast tactical FTL.

5. Cylons are a non issue in star wars. colonials are interresting for various groups. Imagine jump drive smuglers ;)

6. Flowery talk and no action from most kaptains of starfleet until Cylons actualy jump in shields and unleash Nuclear Cleansing
But a Maverik captain might 'mistake' colonials for Federation citizens and zap the 'bots

7. A entire empire but in name is on war footing and bristling with veterans. After some adaptation to fighting warship and technological enemy the might of Earth Fleets will swamp them. The Fate of the Colonials is unknown. There are no Colonials. There never existed any Colonials. Actualy the Robot menace was controled by deluded Humans calling themselves "colonial".

8. Colonials have some trouble getting used to, but are getting some major grief by the spacer guild, while every power block and House wants them and the Ftl they own. Cylons are quickly hunted down and minutously studied -or blown to bits if the pilot has anything to say about it and has some knowledge of the robotic enemy.

9. Cylons are flaged as another minor nuisance of the mighty Imperium of Man. Sould they have the audacity to enter Holy Sol they will be introduced to milllions upon millions of nova shots, Lance beams melta rays and plasma blobs. Colonials are impounded by The most Holy Inquisiton or The Cult Mechanicus, depending on whom the Emperor smiled that day.

1. Glen A. Larson, Ronald D. Moore and David Eick rewrite the stuff so that colonials and cylons obidiently do as they are told by the US, no UN advisory board. This of corse happens at gunpoint. US G.I.s or Marines pointing guns at writers and the World aiming nukes at the US so nothing funny happens

The book Starship Troopers does not have a fascist dictatorship.

Cylons are canonically retarded and their equipment inferior to what we have. I am pretty sure Raiders would be toast against any fighter aircraft there is. Baseships can only shoot giant bombs into planets. Giant bombs that slow down so much in reentry scenes they would be be fodder for ordinary SAMs much less than dedicated ABM systems. I think modern Earth has a good chance of surviving a Cylon invasion, stealing their tech and then exterminating the entire race of morons.

Yeah, plus a land invasion is suicide for them. Their Centuirons might shrugg off 7.62mm fire, but not .50 caliber slugs I think.

No one would even really notice or care in the Star Wars universe.

What would be interesting would be a Galactica arrival at Babylon-5 as Sheridan is breaking away from Earth, and the Colonials have the Cylons in pursuit...

Another fun scenario would be the Colonials arrive at Earth during the "Visitor" occupation of "V".

Or the Colonials arrive in the Firefly setting.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Like in stargate.

EDIT : To elobarate the Colonial are equal or backwards to us in most respects. Their only unique tech is their sublight engines that give them heavy launch capability and ftl drives. It should be trivial to salvage some engines and jump drives from shot down raiders (which should be falling like flies against 21st century air defenses). Then use that to build our own FTL capable space fighters that can go and hunt down Cylons wherever they hide.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Good point. Maybe we can reverse engineer them or something, but I wouldn't count on it.

And if they team up with Doc Brown they can mass produce nukes after visiting the pinball machine scrapyard.

MacGyver. The one who can build a nuke out of scrap metal, used chewing gum and of course sticky tape is MacGyver.

The first thing I thought of when I read this was that scene in Live Free or Die Hard when he is being attacked by that fighter jet, I just imagined it being a raider.

Back To The Future came out before MacGyver.

And besides, "pinball machine parts" is a reference to the line in Back to the Future where Brown explains that he ripped off the Libyans by giving them a "shoddy bomb casing full of used pinball machine parts!"

The Federation tells the Galactica to go away, because they're busy fighting the One Year War, and can't deal with their problems.

EDIT: they might get a more favourable response from the Zekes, only to discover too late that Gihren just wants their rocket engines and gasses them all.

10. The Federation and Zeon probably will want to get their hands on the hyperdrive tech and negotiate a truce.
11. The factions team up and crush the Cylons.
12. Depending on how fast the Nazis and Japan mobilize (both factions are far more militarized and advanced than reality).
