Great as always.
And as for re-viewing the episode, hell I barely could get through the original viewing. Just too boring.

Mr. Harley: I'm afraid my people haven't. I'm very sorry... I wish it were otherwise.

Heck, most of the reviews are better than the original episodes (generally every reviewed episode with a rating below 6).Temujin wrote: And as for re-viewing the episode, hell I barely could get through the original viewing. Just too boring.

Re: OTNGEG - Family
"Family" is a bit twee in parts, obviously a budget saving episode after all the pyrotechnics in the concluding part to "The Best of Both Worlds", but it's still a very strong and memorable character driven episode.

I was referring to what Chuck said at the end, not Chuck's review itself. Chuck's reviews are excellent, and the only way I could stand to re-watch the majority of TNG era Trek (incl. Boobyprise) in any capacity.Serafina wrote:Heck, most of the reviews are better than the original episodes (generally every reviewed episode with a rating below 6).Temujin wrote: And as for re-viewing the episode, hell I barely could get through the original viewing. Yes it does, but for some reason I just have a hard time watching this one without my attention drifting (and I know because they've just replayed it on BBC America).Thanas wrote:It still has its moments, though.Temujin wrote:Great as always.

The Wesley plot does nothing for me really (but than again neither does Wesley )
Picard has some good moments (especially towards the end) as Chuck pointed out, it just seems that something is missing on the path to get there.
Worf's plot was really the best mainly because we get to flesh Worf as a character out a little more. Between Tasha's death and BOBWs, I feel Worf didn't get the degree of development compared to the other charecters (only 'The Emissary' IIRC), Unfortunately, a lot of the later development is also what helped ruined the Klingons.

Re: OTNGEG - Family
Nope - the amount of location filming used in the story meant it was actually one of the most expensive Season 4 episodes. The story's main reason for being is that Ron Moore persuaded Berman that they couldn't just say "Oh well, it's business as usual now" after the earth-shattering events of the previous story, and that they needed a further episode to address its consequences (and also those of Worf's banishment from the Klingon Empire, which had never been mentioned again after it happened).Big Orange wrote:"Family" is a bit twee in parts, obviously a budget saving episode after all the pyrotechnics in the concluding part to "The Best of Both Worlds"

Just one thing that always bothered me about this episode.
What is that thing Worf was sitting on?

I'm pretty sure it's been seen in his quarters prior to that episode. I think it's meant to be some kind of decorative stool.

Re: OTNGEG - Family
Seeing Work sitting in that thing again was priceless. It looks like one of the most goofy and uncomfortable things to sit in. And what's with the mirror right next to it that Worf was looking into?
