You've got her phone number, right? E-mail is easy to forget about. A ringing telephone isn't.

BTW, women are strange in these areas. I know I often get extremely mixed signals.

I find women in general to be strange. And extremely mixed signals are a way of life.

I've been in a situation like yours and I'm in agreement that you should phone her and ask her out for a coffee or something but if she doesn't respond to you over the phone then just leave it--her loss. Good luck!

Why is it that whenever someone mentions changing your life for your partner, there's always some idiot who screams that you're becoming a slave? Does the term "black/white fallacy" mean anything to you?

After receiving your E-mail, she probably filed it away and forgot about it. Going to school and being in a sorority tends to take up lots of free time and attention. E-mail doesn't work well for cross-gender communication.

Instant messenging works decently, provided you have a client that will force the incoming text to be simple black, 12pt text, rather than the pink-text-on-a-purple-background that most girls have their clients set for.

The good ole telephone is still the best way to do it. She can delay her responses with an E-mail or IM; she can't do so in a phone conversation without giving herself away, which is something women hate doing.

You can't ignore the facts here. She called you 10 minutes after you gave your phone number to her sister. That means that she was eager to talk to you, at least. So just call her back. You've got nothing to be nervous about.

If Rebecca had told you you had to convert to Christianity in order to marry her, would you have done it? I think not.

And for the record, the greatest love of my life is music.

I think you're the one who's guilty of that fallacy. I say I wasn't willing to change who I am for a woman and you say that sounds like I can only be in love with myself. Come on, Wong.

How is that a black/white fallacy? You say you won't change who you are; that is pretty clear-cut to me. I, on the other hand, say change is inevitable as you move into the next stage of your life (which you're obviously not ready for), and some idiot says "don't become a slave!" The same idiot mantra spouted by confirmed bachelors the world over.

If you can't change for a woman, you will never be capable of being a father either. If you love someone, you must accept that you must change your life somewhat for them. That is never more true than it is for parenting, which makes any change your wife expects of you seem miniscule by comparison.

You pretend any significant change whatsoever is unacceptable; this is an unnecessarily extremist viewpoint. It is the black/white fallacy which obviously escapes your mind, hence your ridiculous attempt to claim that it's a black/white fallacy to entertain the notion of compromise.

THe nature of relationship is compromise Kruger.

As was mentioned before in another thread, he did compromise on somethings with Rebecca. However people that really love people do not try and force major alterations of who that person is.

Otherwise your not actually in love with the person, your in lust with who you want that person to be instead.

True enough, and by confirmed bachelors I take it you mean the beer-guzzling, skirt-chasing types who think you're a puss for being married? I'm sure you don't pay much attention to morons like that anyway.

That was exactly the problem — I'm not willing to be a father. I have no interest in having children whatsoever. So that about writes me off with 99.99999999999999% of the female species as a potential mate. See why I don't really bother?

I think you're reading a little too much into my posts. Of course some change will happen as a result of having even a steady girlfriend, let alone a wife. I'm not such a dim bulb as to think otherwise.

You're looking in the wrong place. Look for a professional woman. Most of them don't want children. I personally don't want children either. I have no desire to go through pregnancy. Don't give up so damn easy.

--You should really read the post before jumping all over it. I didn't say that radically changing your life for someone was a bad idea. I said becoming someone's love sick slave when they are unwilling to change for you is not my idea of a good thing (in fact I define where I would draw the line). I also said that was okay if that is what you really want.

Only one professional woman has ever had any interest in me, and she wants children badly. Just my luck.

You never know what is going on in someone's life. Try to setup a meeting in person. If she's not interested, nothing lost.

You should, unless you like being alone. I too have no interest in being a father whatsoever. And I found a woman that accepts that.

"Accepts" that. It sounds to me like she wanted kids but compromised that for you. I think that's a dangerous situation, one that could drive you apart later. How long have you two been together?
