Why don't you buy it and play it. If Stark likes it, you can have a safe bet it's going to be fun and decent.

I probably will. However, gaming backlog laws are still in effect - subject to EB Games' June sale. I've already bought AvP, 1/2 price. :)

Oh dude, fucking return that shit before your 7 days is up. Unless you're talking about the original AvP, which is ok. New one is a complete turd. I spent 4 years as a member of an AvP community, anticipating a third game in the series, and I felt like my dick was going through a blender when I finally got to play it. Fuck me the game is mediocre.
A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.

At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.

The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'

'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'

Having a 'gaming backlog' like you're some kind of slave to lists or Captain OCD is lame enough, but putting off games to play shit like AvP is just sad.

Everyone who has a 'gaming backlog' that they have to 'work through' before they can play current titles is a sadcase. At least RDR and Alan Wank are contempory and recieved good reviews. Did *anyone* like AvP?

There was this one guy...

But hey, you better reverse your opinion or else you'll be agreeing with a criticcal consensus on something.

So let me get this straight... on the backlog thing... you won't play a new game, or even buy it, because you have other games you haven't played yet?

Wow. No wonder nerds get obsessed with girls and stay hopeless virgins... they can't move on to a new one until they bang the one they are pining over.

It's not like Vympel's been overseas on a holiday for the past month and hasn't been able to play anything.

Calm down there Lancealot. Princess Vympel's honor isn't being challenged. I'm just commenting on this 'backlog issue' which apparently, many more users than Vympel, have.

Weren't you playing Madden to the exclusion of all else before your xbox shit itself? Or was that just some scurrilous rumour I heard.

So AvP sucks? Hmmm. I better install it tonight, see if I like it, and return it tomorrow if it sucks.

You said lame, but you meant smart. See, by putting off buying games that I want to play so I can finish games I already own, I accomplish two things:-

1. I get my money's worth with the games I already own that I want to finish; and
2. When I get the new games that come out, they will be much cheaper than when they first came out.

I buck this rule for the 'big' games that I really want to play right now, but its served me well.

Not being anywhere near a computer for the last 3 weeks had an adverse effect, but overseas holiday in California/Nevada/Utah/Colorado/South Dakota/Wyoming/Montana (I was on a bus tour Alyeska, otherwise I would've contacted you) >>> gaming.

EDIT: an example - I never bought DoW2 when it came out. When Chaos Rising came out, I got the gold version of DoW2 including the expansion for $79.95 - less than what I would've paid for the full game. I then promptly finished both (since I really wanted to play them, I bumped the order). What'd I lose? Nothing. What'd I save? About $50.00. :)

Pure scuttlebuttery. I played through and completed Assassin's Creed 2 like two weeks ago. I plowed through Mass Effect 2 a few times in the last couple months. I played my DLC for The Force Unleashed (which sucked by the way). I simply enjoy Madden and football and will play it whenever the mood strikes me. I also happen to not buy a lot of games. For instance, I bought Borderlands, which I can't stand, against my better judgment because SOMEONE kept pestering me and said I would like it. Unlike you thieves in AU, you can't just steal a game for three weeks then decide it is time to return it.

TFU as a whole sucked so it's your own fault for that one. They should just remake Jedi Outcast and be done with it. Ah the memories.

Yeeep. For some reason, although I never really find myself enjoying the game all that much at any point in time, I keep playing it, over and over, because it still feels like I'm not quite "done" with it yet. It's bizarre. So I keep lending my copy of ME2 to other people so I have free time to do other things.

Just the one week. But what can you expect from a nation founded by criminals?

If by 'linebacker' you mean 'plays as a third person shooter', then yeah. I mean, it's not like I spent any time playing Gears right?

For the record I have no idea what a linebacker actually is.

After three playthroughs, the game can still surprise me. If only it wasn't assassinated by reviews and there was a chance for the sequel the planned?

Stark, Stofsk kinda missed out on games for a couple of years. Give him a break.

Just how good is Alpha Protocol on the PC? There is absolutely zero chance of me ever getting a console. Is the game enjoyable? How does it compare to other action RPGs?
