Dragon Age: Awakening - Worth the $$$?
Wondering if you all have any thoughts on whether it's worth $35, or if I should wait a few months until the price drops and get it then?
In Brazil they say that Pele was the best, but Garrincha was better

Edit: Nevermind, keep mixing up the expansion and original title name.

Single-player ... WoW? That's the most bizarre way I've heard a classical fantasy RPG (which predates WoW by years) ever described.
He's referring to the expansion, by the way.
As for whether its worth the cash, wait until it gets cheaper. Its a good bit of extra content, but its a bit over-priced for what you get in the US compared to here, for some reason.

That's how Dragon Age plays to me, I can't help it if they're so similar.Vympel wrote:Single-player ... WoW? That's the most bizarre way I've heard a classical fantasy RPG (which predates WoW by years) ever described.

Speaking as someone who bought it almost as soon as it came out...I was disappointed. The expansion was extremely short, and in some ways felt rushed; I also had way more problems with crashes and such playing the expansion than I had playing the original.
I'd give it a few months for the price to drop.

It is extremely short, and though able to port characters over form the original, I have been unable to get the gear from the addons to transfer over with the character.
So worth $35? I say no.

That's something you're not supposed to be able to do. Its stupid, but they didn't bother to make the gear from the DLC (with some exceptions) transferrable.Zwinmar wrote:It is extremely short, and though able to port characters over form the original, I have been unable to get the gear from the addons to transfer over with the character.
However, they were half-assed in doing so, so some of it transfers anyway. This has the result of causing a you-better-have-an-old-save-game bug late in the game where your inventory and those of your party will be taken from you and is supposed to be found later. Except it (your personal inventory) never is. So you lose everything you were carrying.
It happened to me, didn't have any recent save games, so I lost several hours of play.
And it still hasn't been fucking patched, AFAIK.So worth $35? I say no.

Re: Dragon Age: Awakening - Worth the $$$?
At first I was annoyed that DLC items don't transfer over. Then I found out that the items in Awakening are so much better anyway, so it doesn't matter.
The only items from DLC which I find really good are starfang. A couple of the items in Stone Prisoner are good too, like the Helm of Honnleah and the ring you get there. The Warden Commander armour is nice but I think Juggernaut and Wade's Dragonbone armours are better, and they're in the original. EDIT: AFAIK the items from Return to Ostagar transfer over.
I'll echo what others have said and say wait until Bioware releases a patch (if they ever do) and the price drops.
