The original TFU teaser was awesome too, if you recall it. I think the most disingenuous, slimey part of this new teaser is that you can tell it's such obvious bullshit because the ligthsabers actually dismember people.

At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.

The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'

'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'

What's sad of the TFU2 trailer is that it really makes the story as bad as some daytime soap. Galen is on his quest for tru lurve or something he has FIGHT FO!!!, but is he really a man or just another clone!!! Stay tuned for the next episode of Guiding LIGHT!. And oh yeah Darth Vader was busier then Armani before the Fall fashion show with this apprentice shit.

And the Quantum Theory was good for a laugh. Literally GoW meets anime and this is the mutant baby. I wonder if the chick won't be grabbed by tentacles and fuc...I mean chained so the BIG MAN will save her petite ass?

So far the saddest thing is that Mortal Kombat caught my eye for basically taking MKII and mixing SFIV with a dash of versus added.

Oh please you'll know they'll end up with him discovering that he's the One True Force Messiah and have him making the events of RotJ possible or something like that to wank the little Mary Sue bastard out some more.

For some reason the video is not working for me. Is it going to be actual dismemberment, or JK style "every fifth or six enemy has a limb go flying off dismemberment?

The Extended Deus Ex trailer in HD glory. IGN has some impressions and screens.

I'm not jumping on-board the hype train until I see the gameplay in action though. That said, kickass trailers. I'm loving the cyberpunk look and the Ghost In The Shell influence.

Deus Ex 3 continues to look fucking retarded. Will all the fans still be surprised when it sucks shit?

The people 'analysing' a giant cutscene make me laugh, though.

The few bits of actual gameplay scenes in the trailer made me laugh out loud. I really thought I was looking at a cheap GoW mod with pseudo-organic tree bark texture on everything.

They are certainly working on something along those lines, even though it hasn't been unveiled yet. It will probably be using the Tom Clancy license though, EndWar 2 would seem to make sense, though apparently that is being made by the original EndWar devs in Shanghai; rumoured to have some MMO elements (back when Ubi bought Massive there was some info leaked about it). However being Ubi it is likely to have their overkill DRM on PC (not a problem if it's an MMO, I suppose).

I have to say I too had Deus Ex 3 down as a mindless cash-in, but some of the guys from PC Gamer UK/Rock Paper Shotgun who were also very sceptical are now much more enthusiastic having seen it running and spoken to the developers; its sounds like they are going to make a go of it at least, so I look forward to seeing how it turns out. That CG trailer also does get the feel of the setting just right with added Ghost in the Shell niceness, as has been mentioned.

Are you privvy to some footage of this game running that the rest of us aren't, or are you just going by the single-frame screenshots from IGN that look fine, from the article that gushes with praise for it?

Sucking is a very real possibility, but I can't imagine how you would know that it will at this stage given that we are still very much in the dark about the game.

When 100% of the information about a game is shit, that's not my problem. If it's a mature and sophisticated game that brings something interesting to the table, they should probably hire new marketers.

But hey, the DE fanboys are literally slobbering in anticipation. Who needs substance?

The idea that the trailer 'gets the setting right' when it TOTALLY CHANGES THE SETTING is fucking absurd. Deus Ex fans have been delusional for years.

Oh yeah giant megastructures everywhere, just like in Deus Ex. OH WAIT

Deus Ex 3 article wrote:The music isn't organized into arranged songs, but used to establish a mood.
In other words there is no music but some kind of nondescript theme in the background? Am I alone in thinking original Deus Ex music was great and that they should just rehire the original composers? I still remember the theme from Versalife building sneaking around trying to gain access to lower levels.

I may be misremembering as I have only played the first game (didn't finish it, actually), but wasn't Hong Kong in this setting supposed to be a mega city along those lines? What else is different? They changed the helicopters too I suppose?

Just like in real life in 10 years we'll have giant buildings the size of cities like in blade runner, right? Lol

Regardless it'll take gameplay to finish it off, but the marketing has expertly captured the pretentious nature of the DE fanbase.

DE3 is going to be shit by what standards ? Relative to other upcoming games it looks fine. Infact the trailer itself was quite fantastic and not being able to appreciate it is a indication of your shit taste stark. There are legitimate reasons why the game may not be as great as first one. Such as the use of regen health for instance. But nothing seen so far indicates DE 3 is not going to be at the very least an enjoyable oppurtunity to immerse once more into the cyberpunk world the first game presented.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Yep.
When 100% of the information about a game is shit, that's not my problem.
What information are you fucking talking about? We have a CGI trailer (which is fucking awesome), some screenshots (which are fine) and an IGN hands on, which says the game is good. We'll see the game in action soon enough (i.e. E3 showfloor).
But hey, the DE fanboys are literally slobbering in anticipation. Who needs substance?
Oh I see. You have played the game, and thus know it has no substance. So, when are you posting your impressions?
Just like in real life in 10 years we'll have giant buildings the size of cities like in blade runner, right? Lol
17 is closer to 20, but yeah. 17 years from now, we'll all be cyborgs with MMI's living in megatropolises. That's probably just one of the concessions they have to make for setting it in the DE universe, although I have no fucking clue about the actual timelines because I only half-finished DE and never touched the second.
Regardless it'll take gameplay to finish it off, but the marketing has expertly captured the pretentious nature of the DE fanbase.
Nah, they should rethink their marketing strategy, because they certainly haven't captured the prematurely-judging self-assured smug douchebag market.

Obviously, a pre-rendered cinematic but pretty cool nonetheless.

Oh sorry I forgot the DE fanboy brigade was unstoppable. Thinking the awful trailer is bad means I have shit taste? Disagreeing with an IGN hands on brands me a snob? the best part is that demanding substance is retorted by ... somehow saying we need substance? :D

Amusingly it could be better than the first game and still suck. If you think the worst thing about DE3 is regen health you're a fucking moron, but not even saying how regen health is bad here makes you a pretentious moron.

Or, in shorthand, a Deus Ex fan. Where is there interesting E3 information?

Probably not due for awhile yet, assuming they give us anything useful. They just previewed the new CoD game and Kojima just took the stage according to the live E3 blog.
