That Microsoft dude on the latest GTTV has stated that yes there will be hardcore games for Kinect, either in the form of hybrid controller/kinect or 100% kinect control he doesn't care.
They just wanted to show off Kinect on it's own at E3, plus I would doubt any AAA kinect games are even close to being ready for announcement.

That doesn't really help assure the rest of us who are on the fence about it. Not having AAA games for launch is a great way of hurting sales.Zac Naloen wrote:That Microsoft dude on the latest GTTV has stated that yes there will be hardcore games for Kinect, either in the form of hybrid controller/kinect or 100% kinect control he doesn't care.

Though you know, Natal is practically begging to have RTS games made for it.

There is Kinect support in Fable III isn't there?
They just chose not to show it off.

Which . . . really doesn't help their case.Zac Naloen wrote:There is Kinect support in Fable III isn't there?

Their case that Kinect support will be in AAA games but they chose not to show it off at E3?General Zod wrote:Which . . . really doesn't help their case.Zac Naloen wrote:There is Kinect support in Fable III isn't there?

Pretty sure that actually does help their case
There are other games shows before this stuff comes out, they have to hold some stuff back or they'll have nothing announce and nothing to use to build the hype.

I'm not sure how that makes sense considering E3 is all about building up hype.Zac Naloen wrote:

You realise that in order for hype to build you have to keep announcements for later right?

Re: E3 motherfuckers.
Engadget posted a lot of videos of their staff trying out the Natal games in the demo booths, and if memory serves they tried out at least:Starglider wrote:Personally I'd accept a little faking from Microsoft in this case, because a lot of the Natal demos I saw were in situations that would be really challenging for the vision recognition. People on a huge stage with bright colored lights, camera flashes and a moving crowd in the background has a lot more visual noise than the average living room. PS Move has a much easier time of it with just the solid glowing ball to track, the Wii even moreso with the sensor bar tracking.

-The Exercise game
-Kinect Adventures
-Kinect Sports
So we can pretty easily dismiss any "FAKED" claims about those games at least.
I don't think anybody can write off something based on a 2 minute demo at E3, why not wait until the games actually get close to being released and then maybe start jumping to conclusions about them. As far as I know they haven't even officially announced a price for either the sensor or the games. Retailer price speculation is just that, speculation.

Spoony is excited about Deus Ex 3, and pissed about "X-COM". Yeah, I put airquotes. The in-game footage looks BORING.

I think he's questioning their wisdom of what announcements to keep for later.Zac Naloen wrote:You realise that in order for hype to build you have to keep announcements for later right?

Yeah, but I'm still waiting for Vale to announce when Half Life Episode 3 will be finally coming out. What are you waiting for, Valve?
Incidnetally, the new Assassins creed looks very good, yes I know the trailer was CGI, but it still ought to be good. That is unless we get AI who have no idea how to fight.

Huzzah!
Gameplay footage taken on a shaky cam from the behind-closed-doors Deus Ex 3 demos.
And part 2.
Reportedly they didn't feel confident showing it off to the public because the game is somewhat unpolished at the moment. Halfway through the first vid, looks good so far.

A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.
At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.
The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'
'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'

Re: E3 motherfuckers.
God damn. I watched the first of these vids a few hours ago, and then had to leave to do something. I just came back and now both those links lead to 404s. I am most disappointed. And it looks so damn pretty, too! God damn, it looked really nice.adam_grif wrote:Huzzah!

I'm still not getting my hopes up, because I loved the original Deus Ex and Invisible War was such a massive disappointment, but still... graphically, the game looks very, very nice. The bartender's cybernetic arm was really well animated and shiny.

The second part had all the combat too
Looked solid, although you could tell it wasn't quite ready to show yet. The takedowns looked a bit loose for instance.

Re: E3 motherfuckers.
It's been ages since I've played a modern game (e.g. Far Cry 2 or Crysis) and I've got no experience with cover shooters. All of the dancing around in the Deus Ex 3 demo makes me a bit uneasy. On the other hand, the developers have said before that the third-person cover system stuff is optional, so hopefully I can keep living in the past.
Oh yeah, and I liked the killer crate-bot. Hopefully they've got man-sized ones to make box-smashing for supplies more interesting.
