So last week we had to put our cat Elvis to sleep (yeah, she was a female named Elvis. Long story...). She had a lot of health problems, and they finally caught up with her. After a few days of feeling down, we decided that getting another cat from the local shelter is the best way to go.
So here's Wilson. He was originally named Liam, but when we first brought him home he found an antenna ball of Wilson from "Castaway" on my desk and made it his favorite toy. It kind of stuck. Anyway, he's about a year old.
He also likes my guitar playing; obviously a sign of high intelligence.

He's a pretty kitty, like a little tiger. I've always like that type of cat.
And sorry to hear about Elvis, it always sucks to lose a pet.

Do you know if he has any Bengal blood in him? Because aside from the white underbelly, his coloring and pattern look a lot like spotted Bengal or ocicat.

That is not smug. That is attentive and inquisitive.

Perhaps he's confusing it for the innate smugness found in all cats, which is their way of telling you whose boss.

It's definitely possible. He was a stray, so his lineage is pretty much up in the air. You might be right actually, he has a different sounding kind of meow plus he's extremely friendly; almost like a dog. He's a real character.

Well any cat can be friendly, it's a personality issue so the personality thing might not neccessarily mean he's bengal. Our cat is pure mutt and is extremely friendly too, often remarked how she is like a dog (runs to the door and growls sometimes when someone is there, always need to sit in your lap, sleep in the bed, chirps at you etc, etc).

It looks like a mackarel spotted moggie but lively. Nice cat.
Our oldest, a 22+ year old Russian Blue female, is at the vet at the moment. She's on her way out. Only various drips and professional attention is keeping her alive. I have always been a cat person and have known many cats but she is/has been one of the nicest cats I have ever known. Period.
We are a little down at my place at the moment, especially with another cat of the same age - a burmese ginger tabby cross who has been such a great mate for so many years.
