So we are trying to oppress Christians/Jews by making it so that they are equal to other religions in that they are not being backed by the government? What a idiot. I hope that there was someone there to give him the imperial smack down.

Sadly, no. It's his show, after all, and his opinion is quite popular in the United States. Durandal was just making the point that Durran was being overly sensitive about his own pet issue when others could get over things they found offensive.

Have I mentioned that I'm completely in love with Jon Stewart and want to bear hundreds of his children?

Ok, Crackpot the card carrying NRA member will chime in.
personally, i have a problem with toy guns. i think they really blur the line between responsible and irresponsible gun behavior. As a gun owner i would not let my children have toy guns. I feel they teach childeren that it is ok to point guns at each other. Kids nead to learn that GUNS ARE NOT FUCKING TOYS, therefore toys should not be guns. Now don't get me wrong, i don't like the idea of the government making that decision, it is the parents choice to make.....i'm just telling you the decision i would make.

Really? What did he say? Was it some shit about it being tradition or us having to keep God in America or some shit like that?
As I remember it, it was basically that the pledge was too unimportant for that sort of thing, and he's right. No one really cares about it (no one in my high school class even recites it anymore) and going after it just makes secularists who want real change look like nitpickers.
Don't hate; appreciate!

If I remember correctly, his comments were something along the line of "Yeah, technically it violates separation of church and state, but just suck it up, live with it and stop wasting tax money on lawsuits."

Maybe I can push a law through Congress that labels the Jewish religion as "The Fucking Kikes" and tell Stewart to "live with it."

Actually, the gigantic uproar over the 9th Circuit Court's decision in Congress shows that it was anything but a nitpick.

As for toy guns, I'm all for them. I grew up with all sorts of implements of imaginary destruction right at my finger tips. One thing I could never live without was electrical tape. I always needed to stick two guns together. However, that's just my environment. I grew up in suburbia with responsible parents who made sure to let me know that the fun and games stop when someone gets hurt. Kids in Harlem, on the other hand, don't always have that luxury.

*bows* Thank you, thank you...

VF5SS, he's not old. Well, not really old. I have a thing for Harrison Ford too, and he's older than my dad. :D

Besides, Jon Stewart is unbelievably sexy because he's so smart and funny (and pretty damn cute). How many other people have the vocabulary he does? Mmmmm....very big turn on. Yum.

He's only 38, I believe. That's only about 14 years older than Zaia.

Anyway, If I stopped watching or reading something the moment they said something I disagree with, I would have no use for a TV, radio, or collection of books.

Right, I know, I was in the wrong in this particular matter.

I don't recall you saying Jon Stewart was too old for Zaia.

Oh, wait, the other part of the thread. Either way, concession accepted.

John Stewert is the eternally fresh personality.
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."
