Chalk another 'aggressive humans' strike to the Arayna. When they first settled in Outlander space there was another Major Commission, the Immin. They were a full third of the Outlander's population, but once the Arayna (they were adopted as a client state by the Immin, as one of the Isolationist lesser Commission's members.) learnt more about the structure of the region, the technology used by the others, and a few handy genetic engineering tricks, they launched an attack and now, well, the results speak for themselves. They killed a good ~30% of the Outlanders total and forced the Immin down to the Lesser Commissions.

They're still recovering from that, to a degree. The overall population has risen above the highest enjoyed before the coup, but the balance of power shifted away from the semi-tyranny imposed by the Immin to where it is now.

Since "government sanctioned" would imply a level of involvement or corruption that might be undesireable, would merely "not policed/enforced" be allowable?

Perhaps I am confused. Who belongs to which species here? I can't seem to find the Outlander Commissions' backstory on the wiki.

Interesting-- the Commune is relatively close to the Central Alliance, and while I can see the Commune being suspicious of us for being an unknown factor, plus a strong capitalist streak, we're also an inter-species alliance with humans and various types of 'xenos' intermixed on nearly all levels. Even led, currently, by a non-human.

The Arayna are humans - more specifically, they're a bunch of expatriates from a variety of Middle Eastern countries who left Earth on pre-Heim generational ships and thought they'd be completely alone when they got where they were going. They weren't, and then man started spreading through the universe FTL and it was a great big kick in the balls for them because, you know - they wasted a couple of centuries and didn't achieve their goals.

The Immin were a major alien species in the region when they arrived but are now a minor species (From ~35% of the total population down to ~4%.). I really gotta finish writing up my wiki, huh?

Where was their initial destination? One of the systems now in the UN? It took a century just for Earth to Nova Terra travel by non-FTL drives; no way your ship would get from Earth to the current Commissions sectors in a mere 200 years.

Well, Chiron doesn't have any xenocide in its history. We did have a bloody rebellion from an Imperialistic regime that grew into a civil war. The Klee Shay Empire used an atomic purging campaign in an unsuccessful attempt to break the newly formed sovereignty. It got so bad the UN intervened and crushed the Imperial government, as Steve was kind enough to agree to. So while I don't have mass butchery of aliens on my record, I can wage bloody wars quite well without them.

Okay, I've started a bunch of my Wiki entries. The Army and Navy pages are mega-ghetto right now (in fact the Army page is just a few pictures) but I'll expand them as time permits. But point value for Navy ships is given.

An alien. I don't have "furries" in my 'verse, although there are aliens that are covered in fur/hair, like Chewbacca... and not based on any Terrestrial critters.

PeZook, can we expect witty one-liners from Unit 7?

For instance, would he use a giant mechanical buzzsaw to cut apart Karlack diplomats and report back to the Collectors that "sorry, the negotiations were cut short"?

On the other hand you'd expect 'Unit 7', to be the only Unit 7. Why would he be designated 'seven' if there's more than one of him?

General question, mostly directed at Steve and Oskuro:
Given the basic astrography, I'd expect that there's a healthy scattering of ork worlds and pirate bases in the Badlands. Also minor human settlements (insofar as the orks don't conquer and/or eat them). Seem reasonable?
