Re: Cyberpunk 2020
Ashton gets the car up on over the curb, but clips the light post in the process. He makes it onto the freeway but the police slide in right on his tail. It's night time but there's still plenty of cars on the freeway to make this a dangerous endevour. The nearest cop car tries to slide up on the left while the second pulls right up on your bumper and turns on his spotlight.
Aparently in vehicular combat the rules work a little different, thsoe with highest initiative (being Ashtons passengers first, and then Ashton) get to declare their actions last in order to counter the other vehicle.
Inside the building...
Vaso chuckles, "If that's the way he wants it..." He looks around for a moment, "We're are we going to strap you down? I don't want you flailing around when it starts to hurt, hehe, and it's gonna hurt."
Bosco, the cop cars blaze past you first one way and then the other in a perfect by the book execution. The two remaining cars block off the area and you can see one of the drivers screaming into the radio.

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
As one police vehicle tries to slide up on the left of them Edward fires through the back window of the once nice 2011 Altima with his Militech Police Shotgun. He tries to put his two ten gauge slugs right through the car's hood and into the engine with hopes of causing one vehicle to drop out swiftly. Once he's done firing he gets down, trying not to show his head to the police, and waits for Jake to pop up and fire.
Jake pops up and fires for the driver of the same car that Edward had fired at with the same weapon and same type of ammunition. While the passenger could start shooting at any moment, it's more important to get a car off of them as swiftly as possible. He doesn't stay up any longer than it takes to try and put two rounds center mass on the driver. Getting back down he tucks his head down and looks at the rear view mirror hoping to see the car Edward and himself shot at dropping off and disengaging from pursuit.
Meanwhile Ashton mashes down on the trunk release button and pulls a wire strung through the back seat before being mounted on his shifter. This string leads to a slipknot that is tired around the trigger of a belt fed 50. cal machine gun loaded with a two-hundred round belt folded in a small wooden box beside the weapon so it should feed smoothly. In testing the trunk popped open like a charm and the weapon started to fire directly out the back with as much accuracy as might be expected of a gun held down by brackets and wire meant for other purposes.
Confident that the gun will force the cops to fan out beside him and cause drivers to the rear to panic and make the cops job harder Ashton now focuses only on the road ahead. He's well aware of the traffic even at this time of night and he hopes to use it to his advantage especially if he can cut in front of a large cargo truck heading out of town from the wear houses. A few rounds from his MG ought to cause the driver to panic and cause issues for the police as they try to pass it.
---
Meanwhile back inside Zack says, "I'm guessing this is a cut and shove type of operation rather than a little punch gun and a tiny chip. Either way, unless you want to hear me curse every one of you and your families get me some smash first."

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
OOC These are all supposed to be NPC's in the car chase. I understand why we didn't want to kill them all but as much as you love them Norade, why are we following their out of scene actions past this point?
I also understand that it's nice to be able to take control of the group under your command but it may be a better idea to just issue orders and maybe intentions. There should be a cutoff point, I'm not sure I like these unimportant NPC's stealing much more of the show and the plot is going to stall for a week to get this car chase over with.
Just a bit of an opinion poll at this point, is it ok for Norade to continue to have several mini PC's?

You guys both (3???) have my apologies, I'm still feeling my way around these forum games. It's easy to get off on a tangent of possibilities in the hours and days that it can take even a simple conversation to take place.

You could just hash out the car chase quickly in an IM conersation or something, and just post what Zack and Bosco know.

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
Brilliant. This forum will be for Bosco and Zack from this point on. Norade we can hash out the car chase in msn and if you really want to we can start a side campaign on here.
Bosco, what're you doing in response to the chase starting?
Zack, Vaso shakes his head again, "You could just drop the tough guy shit," He smiles, "You are in my house after all. How about I just hit you with a local, clip one of them blinds on you and you can hold really really still." He starts hacking from what sounds like a smokers cough and spits something into the sink. "That way we can leave Rock all pretty and sleeping while we wait for his parts, they should be here within the hour..."

Oh...hehe, I kinda forgot about this thread what with all the plotting and scheming in Worlds Of SDN
With the Nomands gone and engaging in a high-speed chase - As if they want to piss us off as badly as possible - I can again pull out my badge. I sprint to the nearest car and describe the situation briefly to the officer in charge, pointing out the wounded, identifying the security guards and mentioning the club is still full of dangerous boostergangers.
"I figure we'll wait a while until the place empties somewhat and arrest whoever is too injured to leave. We could also use an ambulance for the wounded."
In all the confusion, I can't remember if Zack left the club or not. Though I was sure I was about to find out...
OOC: Does Zack have any pack tatoos, or just a symbol on his jacket?

Sorry guys, I never got the notification that you had posted again.
Bosco, you outrank the two two officers in the cruiser you approach. The driver, a young officer named Jack McKellar simply snaps out, "Yes sir, I've already called for two additional cruisers to help us deal with this situation and backup for the chase. The ambulance is already on it's way from you're first call. Is there anything else we can do sir?"
As he's finishing you hear a starticing yelling from his radio. "Suspects have oppened fire from some kind of trunk mounted machine gun. Request immediate support. Currently heading south in the southbound lane on Sterling.
Zack, Vaso asks you to remove your shirt and then grabs a blind. Once he straps it to your shoulder it fans open blocking your view of the surgery. Suds grabs you a beer (a real one) and tells you not to move and it will be over in about ten minutes.
Once Vaso gets to work the sensations, even through the local, are disturbing. You repeatedly involuntarily do a bicep curl, and you're fingers keep clenching. You see him grab something out of a sterile package that looks like a USB thumbdrive, your arm snaps up one more time and you hear him mumble, "Good, you've good enough muscle to hold the bastard, time to close it all up." He hums softly to himself and you can tell even just by the shadows visible through the blind that this guy could probably do a full autopsy blindfolded.

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
As always the local doesn't entirely erase the feeling so Zack feels the moves as a sort of phantom unreal sensation. Even worse is that it seems to involve his nerves as he feels and sees his arm curl with certain touches as he hooks up whatever loyalty device he's choosing to add. Given how deep the cuts feel and the movement of his arm he guesses that it would be a bitch to just cut out if he wanted to duck his obligation. Yet for all the shit at least he got some real beer out of the deal and it was over quick.
Once it's all done he asks, "The fuck did you put in me? It's in deep enough that I wouldn't try pulling it out, I just want to know what you guys use to ensure people keep their promises."

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
I figured writing it that way would be the easiest means of keeping the story flowing while giving you info your character would have. I'm trying my best to keep it flowing despite my lack of familiarity with the medium.
"You're off duty, why don't you just go home?" The other officer asks with sort of a sneer and one cocked eyebrow.
Jack chuckles a little under his breath, still looking at you. " You'll get used to him, he's oldschool. Keeps you on your toes. Still makes me fuckin' nervous like it's my first day out of the academy."
He pauses and thinks for a moment. "I've still got my shit from daytime duty in the trunk, I haven't washed it for two days and it sure isn't flack but you can take it if you want. I suppose you can fill out the paperwork tomorrow. If you see tomorrow. There's an auto-shotty in there too with a spare mag, that little pee-shooter isn't much for night patrols." He gestures at your pistol, and finishes by patting his own sidearm.
Vaso strokes his chin, kind of nasty considering he's still wearing his gloves. "Well, Suds figures you should always charge extra if someone screws you. Kind of an 'Asshole Tax.' You guys try to screw us and the arm we put in your buddy there pays back threefold. Incase we don't know where you are when we go to collect, we can track the device by GPS. It's embedded under the muscle, so I wouldn't want to relieve the pressure on it without first disabling it." He sits back, obviously proud of himself.
Suds steps in again, politely waiting his turn to speak. "You can scan it all you like, x-ray, whatever you like, it won't go off. We'll disable them and remove them later, except in the case of Rock. The nanites we've injected into him are permanent and once the device is disabled it will register as a foreign body and be taken apart by them."
Vaso walks back over to Rock and continues his work, "The sooner I get them parts the sooner I can mount his new arm. How long has it been? I hate waiting, makes me get all fidgety."

"Right...", I say after Jack's colorful description of his clothes, "...thanks, I guess."
I trot up to the trunk and quickly pull the spare vest over my clothes. I really should've taken my private kevlar here, after I heard where they wanted to meet, I think while doing that. I hesitate a bit over the shotgun, but decide to take a good offer when I see one, and grab it as well.
"You ever got those automated deffibrilators they were going to add to our equipment?", I ask Jack while loading a magazine into the shotgun, "There's a guy going into shock inside the bus stop, and I'm not sure Trauma Team can get here in time..."
(OOC: Not much good I'll do with that shotgun, to be honest, but I can always just spray pellets downrange )

"Shit Vaso, you forget to spray him." Suds curses under his breath and grabs an aresol can. He walks over and gives your shoulder a good solid spray before taking the blind off. Looks like Vaso did his best to hide the incision within the lines of your tattoo, he's pretty damn good.
"You're free to go, the shoulder will be a little sore but that spray will keep the skin together and clean. Send in your third man tomorrow night with the rest of the security, just tell him to come talk to me specifically about insurance. Oh, and by the way, I need them here by 7pm." With that he walks out the door and down the hallway.
Not sure if I already told you but the surgury gives you 2 points of damage.
Bosco, outside you hear the roar of an AV coming towards you from the south, the telltale red and yellow lights flickering in the smog layer.
(not sure how you may have played before but I run cops as having red and blue lights, ambulances as red and white, fire department as red and white, Trauma team as red and yellow and all other vehicles with authority to act outside of standard traffic laws as just haing yellow.)
Jack leans out the window as you get suited up and yells, "Where are you going anyways?"
A pack of about two dozen severely injured Sacred Blades members stumbles out the door while you strap up. They spook a little at the sight of the cops cars but keep their heads down and just shuffle down the street. Unless someone stops them of course.
The AV screams over the building and rotates 270 degrees while touching down in the middle of the street, machine guns sweeping all four directions. Out hop three armed men in white Trauma team uniforms, one carrying a stretcher, who walk straight towards you, "You look fine, who're we grabbing then?" the first one yells at you over the sound of the still running Av-4.

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
"Sure, before seven," repeats Zack as Vaso leaves and he gets up from the table and flexes the arm and finds out it feels like it's going to sting a bit later, but beyond that it won't be to bad.
The nomad slings his rifle over his shoulder, puts his coat on, pulls his Kevlar bandanna over his head, and tucks his helmet under his arm walking away he says, "Call me when Rock's all done, he'll know my number when he's awake."
With that done he steps out the side door slowly, he's not sure who's out there and he thought he heard gunshots before the AV landed. He turns his helmet and uses the reflection on the visor to try and see what's going on around the corner without putting his head out, the flashing red and yellow lights make it clear that trauma team has arrived, and the reflection should confirm that and the police sirens he thought he heard earlier. He also notices that his gang members have split and that, combined with the cops might just mean trouble.
Figuring that it's best to know before he peaks his head out he steps back into the room and dials up Joe.

"Nowhere, but it never hurts to have an extra layer of kevlar.", I say, and wave to the Trauma Team guys after the last belt clicks into place, "There's a man going into shock inside that bus stop over there. I'll sign for him.", I yell at them over the AVs engines and show the guy, "I don't know what the problem is, but it looks serious."Kheitain wrote: Jack leans out the window as you get suited up and yells, "Where are you going anyways?"
I glance briefly at the Sacred Blades, but let them go. Watching two dozen suspects is well beyond the abilities of the officers present. I check the wounded again to see if any of them need any additional help.
"One more thing, Jack", I ask during one of my rounds, "Got a spare shortwave? Mine's back at the station."
Well, I'll basically get the wounded into the ambulance ASAP, and wait until the club is empty enough to secure and search the premises for anybody else who might need help. Or a funeral.Kheitan wrote:Just to line up timing and everything PeZook you've got a few minutes before Zack is fully done his surgery.
And, of course, for Zack

It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn't feel like a giant. I felt very, very small.

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
"Sorry, no spare radios." Jack calls out.
"Fuck, better get that form so we can get our slab and get out!" The first guy calls back.
He and the one carrying the stretcher hustle over to the bus stop and quickly get him on the stretcher and start strapping him down. The third guy runs back with a clipboard and a small thumbdrive. The form is pretty basic, just you waving your Trauma team insurance for the third party untill you recieve your new card. The thumbdrive is a tiny device used in addition to a signature, it records your thumbprint, scans your retina and attatches it all to a file number to match the hardcopy.
"You about done there?" The third guy asks before you've even finished skimming the page. "Shouldn't take you longer to sign that than it does to strap in a body. Lets go!"
In the time it takes you to quickly peruse the page, sign, date and hold the thumbdrive to your eye (providing you do so) the other two medics have the first guy strapped to the stretcher and his shirt cut off and they're rushing him into the AV.
Jack shakes his head at you as he gets out of the car and the AV starts to lift off again. "Have you ever used your Trauma account for yourself?"

I get the bureaucracy over with and smirk, hearing Jack's comment.
"No, I don't think so. And you know...I'd like to keep it that way, since using it for myself probably means I just got a bad case of lead poisoning."
I smile at the officer and go back to the bus stop with one, to move the remaining wounded to a safer location near the squad cars. When that's done, we wait for the ambulance, and when the wounded are loaded up and the club is empty enough to clean it up, I intend to move inside and start picking up the pieces.

((Let me know when my turn actually happens.))

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
I think we can just fast-forward, since I don't intend to storm the club until it's actually somewhat empty, so Zack will probably be done with it.

OKay, then waiting on Kheitain to tell me how my helmet visor check and phone call go.

Works for me guys, I wanted to make sure Bosco could do what he wanted in the little timewarp I had made.
Storming the club, are you intending to wait for backup and then go in the front door or are you intending to try and get in the side door? If you go with the latter that will be what Zack's visor check picks up, if not I'll post Joe's answer to the phone call and figure out the bodycount for the club.
Either way, while you're waiting for the ambulance a few more smaller groups of gangers roll out. Never smaller than ten at a time, at most thirty. In total since the fight started maybe some four hundred will have stumbled back out, you know the clubs legal maximum capacity to be about twelve hundred, how many were in there to start with is unknown. Two more squad cars will show up with the ambulances and properly block the roads off.

We'll take the side door, leaving an officer or two to watch the street (so that, for example, a ganger won't steal a cruiser )
