The fools! Gawd, that's funny.

With 1 in 14 million odds and the fact that Camelot (lotto commission) is funding asylum seekers, my dad doesn't play the lottery as much now on principle.

Wow, and I thought I sucked at maths.

Ah, the lottery, or as my grandfather likes to call it, "The Poor Man's Tax".

Don't play. If I had a dollar to spare, I'd rather put it to some good use, like funding something I enjoy, rather than on the off chance I might win some amount of money.

But then when it comes to risking money, I've been raised to be something of a tightwad. The very occasional gambling is the most I'll do, and usually with something where something more than raw chance is at stake.

Raffles for charity and benefits where the bulk of the money goes towards a good cause, however, are something else entirely.

Think of a huge room literally jam packed with paper tickets. Then pick one...those are your chances of winning big.

So far I'm up about 500 bucks from playing lottery tickets, but that's partially offset by the 100 bucks I've lost at various casinos. It's still a net gain of 400 bucks from gambling which ain't too bad, it'll cover my concert ticket costs for the next little while.

Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either. :P

Why not just donate directly to the charity?

Lotto works if you play it the way it was intended, one dollar for one chance. Thats all I ever spend, once a week for the Saturday Power Ball drawing. So over a year I spend $52 bucks, I spend more on chips in a year.....I figure its worth a shot to win some dough, but if it never happens oh well, life keeps on trucking

Here's what I found out about "The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo".

If the link fails then just do a search under "roulette wheels" and it should come up.

That's always another option, naturally. ;)
