My character so far.
I am using the Elven Wizard from Races of the Wild, but other than that it is a normal wizard.

As always, suggestions are welcome.

Well, that's one player out.

If you're going to try a sock puppet, why not just mail an admin and ask to come back instead?

Anyway, here's the list of players by race and class so far:

Halfling Rogue (Kheitain)
Human Ranger (Hawkwings)
Kobold Bard (Dark Hellion)
Human Artificer (Rossum)
Human Cleric (Stormin)
Human Swordsage (Solauren)
Faun Spellthief (Agent Sorchus)
Elven Wizard (Serafina)
____ Binder (Lance)

So far I'm thinking of dividing the parties up as follows:

Party 1:
Halfling Rogue (Kheitain)
Kobold Bard (Dark Hellion)
Human Artificer (Rossum)
Human Swordsage (Solauren)

Party 2:
Human Ranger (Hawkwings)
Human Cleric (Stormin)
Faun Spellthief (Agent Sorchus)
Elven Wizard (Serafina)
Binder (Lance)

Does anybody have any issues, or see any potential unbalance, outside of numbers, in these parties? Also, if anybody isn't sure how long they can stay in due to some impending thing that will take them away for a good chunk of time let me know now.

You should through lance with party 1 so that it has someone who can take a hit. Currently party 1 has 2 skill monkeys, a bard and an artificer. None of which can actually take hits. Rogue+bard+swordsage feels very redundant. We have a whole bunch of people with overlapping skills.

Personally, I would go Bard, Swordsage, Ranger, Binder for 1 party and Cleric, Spellthief, Rogue, Wizard, Artificer for the other. Really, we just need like 3 more people to join who want to play Barb, Crusader and warblade.

Was also trying to group by player experience level and awesomeness of RP'ing. I also know that party rogue has 4 levels of fighter, and maybe one of barb after that to get to master thrower quickest.

I'd be willing to play another character too if you need to get a tank in there. Probably would be a warforged crusader.

It should be under the announcements topic, however for trying to sneak back they might not take kindly.

Disagree with the bolded, Spellthief and Rogue are really similar in both tactics and probable builds. I know I am set up to take the role of the lockpickin' trapfinder, and half of our class features at lvl 1 are the same. But I do agree that there is a little redundancy in P1. But you are in that party so so long as it looks decent for you. My totally biased preference is for the bard and binder to switch, but what ever I know P2 is very decent in Norade's list.

I wonder how much Alignment is to influence things. So far we have LN, LN, N, CN, CG and 4 people who might not have decided yet.

If the Rogue gets shifted to the other party it should work, the spell thief should work better with the caster heavy party.

I did say the Rogue is going to be taking levels of fighter after 1st level right, he'll be closer to a fighter due to the 4 fighter and single barbarian level he'll be taking to met the prerequisites for master thrower quickly.

I would really rather players stick to things from official sources so I'm not going to be allowing anything from message boards or from third party sources. Only things from official 3.5 sources and the Dungeon and Dragon magazines.

This is why elves shouldn't use magic. They should leave it to the real experts in magic, us dragons. Now, if a dragon was going to humble himself enough to use mere wizardy, instead of our innate sorcerous power we'd do things very differently. First, we would make sure to be even more intelligent. Of course this is easy for us dragons since we are naturally so smart, but even an elf maiden like yourself could do with more schooling. We would also be tougher, with higher vitality and a better constitution. Of course, we have the advantage of our invincible, immortal draconic bodies but even a fragile fey like yourself could buff up a bit. And we would use this to give ourselves better abilities of spellcraft. Our skills at spellcraft would be unmatched, which they are... because we're dragons. To do so, we would rely on our personal willpower and charisma. All in all, a fragile young elf girl like yourself should leave this magic stuff to us big, strong dragons. We have the tools and we have the talent.

(AKA, pump your con and int more. You can dump cha and str and you only really need 10 wisdom since you'll have good will save progression in every class or PrC you take. With the bonus skill points from the increased int max out spellcraft as well. If you can, put some CC skill points in Use Magic Device as well so you can use cleric magic items like the ubiquitous wand of Cure Light wounds/Lesser Vigor. oh and fuck ride. You're a wizard. You don't lower yourself to riding on animals. You can teleport. :P )

Oh, right - FYI, i am now going to play a druid/wizard/arcane hierophant.
Essentially a Crowd Controll/Heal&Buff class that is more resilient than a wizard.
That will cut down my arcane spellcasting, of course.

Here is my new character sheet. My class progression will be Druid 1/Elven Wizard 1/Wizard 2/Wizard 3/Druid 2/Druid 3/Druid 4/Arcane Hierophant 1/Arcane Hierophant until 10.
Less arcane spells, but additional utility and more resilience. Plus, i don't like the standard book&tower mages all that much.

Yah, that's right. You elves should stick with what your good at. Bossing around woodland creatures. Leave the real magic to dragons. Plus you can prance around in leather. Can't go wrong with a nice elf maiden in leather. Even a dragon like me likes to see that once in a while. Just keep your mangy pet away.

Hmm, I'm just hoping our halfling master thrower with his boomerang and out human ranger can keep up to within an order of magnitude...

I would worry more about the dragon kobold bard, but I think he'll have fun anway.

I'm going to keep my companions somewhat utility-oriented rather than making them combat-beasts.
For now, it's a Hawk - excellent spot skill (+14!) but low damage (1D4-2) - at best useful for distraction.
Later on, i am probably going to stick with a Dire Eagle - a flying mount is always useful. Of course, quite limited in dungeons or other confined areas - and much weaker than other potential companions. And with animal growth it is a potential mount for the whole party. And the spot-skill is even better, especially if combined with the low-light vision, alertness and flying.

Also, keep in mind that my BAB is not all that good and that my classes give me weak reflex and fortitude saves (tough both are somewhat fixable by wildshape) (+4 at level eight, +1 at level four!). I won't be a close-combat druid and have to watch incoming spells.

True, I'm just worrying out loud while trying to prevent a player from wasting skills on craft dye just to change his character's hair color at will.

Hey, I resent your impugning of my draconic character. Firstly, as a dragonwrought kobold I am a true dragon! I can even perform epic feats if I require it. Secondly, it is patently absurd that a dragon such as myself could break the game. Its called Dungeons & DRAGONS, thus my presence is in fact necessary for the game. Without me, the game would just be dungeons. Now I am proficient with whips and wouldn't mind spending some time in one of those with that elf babe over there but then it would be Dungeons & Dragons again, plus we would need the Book of Erotic Deeds. I can't be expected to lug that thing around with me. I would suggest you take it back, but I don't have the levels for that. So, in return GIMME MORE GOLD!
