Re: Cyberpunk 2020
(Ignore the post above this.)
"Maybe, but I'm still better off than you are Bosco, you could have taken down my info right here and let me walk. Instead you get Petrochem looking for you and your sister disappears. I think I can handle both of those problems for you, you just need to stop being so straight edge and take a deal," Zack says as he starts to walk away from the room. Nobody has placed him under arrest yet, and the only person who seems to want to isn't on duty at the moment.
Assuming he makes it a few steps he rattles off his number saying that they can call him if they need anything and that he's sorry for the trouble. Then he puts his armored bike helmet on, and makes for his bike.

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
Well I guess we might as well see where it goes. You guys can try and rp through and see if Zack and Bosco can resolve their differences, or you can see who survives a firefight in a very tiny room.
Before Zack can take those steps the officer Bosco has been ordering to cuff you finally snaps out of whatever wonderland he was in. Approching you quickly he says in a grave tone, "You can make this easy on both of us, just shut up, drop teh gun and you can argue all you want later." He attempts to twist you around smoothly but firmly by your left arm and put the cuffs on you.
Now assuming that you co operate he cuffs you, leaving the weapon where it drops (Bosco you can do what you like with it) and you will be escorted by him and another officer (or Bosco) to one of the squad cars outside.
Assuming you don't, I've made the rolls and his attempt to spin you around will fail. You can post your intended retaliation, but be forwarned you are not on top of the initiative list.
Bosco you're free to escort him to the station yourself for questioning or do as you like.

Sorry to both of you for that one, I figured I could just make that post and the two of you could decide on the future of the campaign. I forgot to include Zacks luck on his initiative roll, he will infact be top of the initiative order.

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
(I'm going to do something unusual, by rolling a cool check to see where this goes. I'm divided between going along with being cuffed and trying to talk to Bosco in private, and the pure joy that I'd get by seeing how many cops I can take out before I go down... Roll of 3 to get under my Cool.)
Zack allows himself to be cuffed looking at Bosco with a scowl and shaking his head, he'd figured that the threat of ruining the cop and kidnapping his sister would have worked, now all he can do is say, "Bosco, seeing as I'm cuffed now, would you mind speaking to me outside, alone."

"First things first. You are now under arrest for issuing threats against a police officer. You have a right to remain silent. If you chose not to, everything you say will be used against you in court. You have a right to a lawyer, and for him to be present during your interrogation. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you.
If you want to talk to me in private, we can talk at the station later. If you understand your rights, you will now be detained until we can transport you to the station."

"Spare me the spiel," says Zack as Bosco tries to read him his rights, "We both know those rights aren't worth a damn anymore if they ever were. Not to mention the fact that I didn't threaten jack fuck. I just told you that I had shit on you and you took it personally. All I wanted to do was walk out of here and go home to my wife and you wanted to cuff me for no reason."PeZook wrote:I let myself relax a little. EDIT: I do in fact intend to talk to Zack at the station, so if Kheitan decides we're done here, could we please agree to skip the whole club thing, since it's not going to be anything interesting?

I'm just glad my campaign may yet be salvaged.

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
Having been pushed through processing by a cop that seems bored Zack finds himself sitting in a small plain room waiting for Bosco to show up. He's in his own clothes still, but everything else is being held and he's still cuffed. All he can do now is wait and hope Bosco's less of an ass than he would be in the same situation.

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
(OOC: See? We're such awesome players )
I can't say I'm in a good mood when I'm finally done doing the night's paperwork, typing up the report, and of course running the scene until a relief group of detecties get there. It's unlikely the investigation will be very long ; The owner took reasonable precautions, and blood sports are legal.
I sigh, stretching in my chair. Sign of the goddamned times. Fucking blood sports are legal.
I brew myself a hot stimulant in the clancky, barely working coffee machine, and run what's left to do that night. There's going to be interrogations of arrested gangers, more paperwork, then I'll have to get to Trauma Team's office to pick up my new card, and I should probably drop by the hospital to see how the wounded are doing...but that can wait until tomorrow.
Oh, yeah. And the other tiny problem. I wonder idly if Zack was bluffing with his threats...I really hope he was, but at the same time, I find myself wishing he'd kept his mouth shut in front of other officers. If only I got a bit more time...damn.
Either way, since he's been detained and asked nicely - for once - to talk in private, I suppose I can do it. I get up from the chair and go to the interrogation room where they're holding him.
"Thanks, Debrah", I say to the officer guarding the door. I make sure to see if I remembered to check my weapon at the lockers and walk in. I sit down in the chair opposite of Zack without much ceremony.
"You...have no idea how much of a headache you've caused me tonight. What did you want to talk about?"

"You have no idea how much stress you're causing me Bosco," says Zack almost parroting the cop, as he tries to get comfortable sitting in the bare metal chair, "If you'd just let me walk I'd have called you tomorrow and I wouldn't have had to make all that noise in there. What was with the whole walking in and pretending not to know me thing anyway?"

"No, you acknowledging me would have let me know you weren't trying to fuck me. I'll tell you this straight up, I fucking hate cops. A typical nomad encounter with the cops is them shooting at use because we raided some corporate rig so we could sell the take and feed our families. So when you came in acting like you didn't know me, I assumed you had a score to settle and were going to use you badge buddies to do it," says Zack standing up and pacing as he talks.

I really, really dislike being shot at and threatened with violence for trying to help wounded people, and they claimed they did it on your orders, too. To force my cooperation."Norade wrote:"No, you acknowledging me would have let me know you weren't trying to fuck me. I'll tell you this straight up, I fucking hate cops. "Tyrell didn't tell me much of anything, he's more into guns and being macho than he is talking and being worth what we pay him. As for what my pack did to you before they felt the need to start a police chase on your turf... I guess they figured they were hot shit or something. They certainly get their share of women in the camp, I guess they figured they were big shots here too."PeZook wrote:"I don't do shit like that. Didn't Tyrell tell you that much? "Anyway, if everything went well, they're fine and back the the camp by now. You're not harmed, though you would have been had you thought that going back into the bar was actually a good idea. I just hope the cars chasing them are okay, that trunk mounted MG isn't accurate, but it sure does chew shit up."

I stay silent again, pondering the ramifications of this, "Yeah, I can understand your reluctance to tell me. If they catch wind of what you're doing, they'll just come at you with a squadron of gunships and wipe you out, and make up an excuse afterwards."
"Okay", I get up, "Here's what's going to happen. I arrested you because of the threats you issued, but that's a misdemeanor. Show some remorse, and I don't see how you won't get bail. We've arrested some really hardcore types tonight, the judge won't bother with someone like you. I'll rewrite my report to be more favorable towards you, and try to get the club's owner to come and testify on your behalf, if you want him to. He testified you were his chief of security.", I smile at that, "I wonder how you managed to arrange that with the riot still going on?"

It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn't feel like a giant. I felt very, very small.

Re: Cyberpunk 2020
"I can deal with bail, the pack won't be happy with the expenses on a simple job, but we'll manage. As for how I got the job, the team is actually pretty professional when somebody mature is around. He figured that we'd do a better job than his current guys so we were hired. I know three outrunners who, if they made it out of that chase okay, who'll be sorry they missed out on the work."PeZook wrote:"Whew...", the revelation hits me like a sledgehammer to the face, "...holy shit."
I stay silent again, pondering the ramifications of this, "Yeah, I can understand your reluctance to tell me. If they catch wind of what you're doing, they'll just come at you with a squadron of gunships and wipe you out, and make up an excuse afterwards."

"Damn, you work fast. Okay...Should I contact your next of kin, let them know you're safe?"Norade wrote: "I can deal with bail, the pack won't be happy with the expenses on a simple job, but we'll manage. Zack writes down Dawn's number and says, "Call her, she'll be the first one down here to tell me what an idiot I am for still going out on these things. Twenty-eight's too old for dealing with all these new chromed up monstrosities, I'd rather stay in and teach the kids to shoot straight at this point."PeZook wrote:"Damn, you work fast.
