I avoid phones if I can help it. Not because they make me uncomfortable or anything, but because there's just a lack in voice-only communication that bugs me. In direct face-to-face communication, it's more personal, it makes it easier to pick up on people's reactions based on facial expressions and gestures, and lulls in conversation aren't as awkward because there's a medium other than just the audio. It's not a preference, jackass; he hates voice comms, and avoids phones. Better luck next time.
So yeah, I can see where he's coming from. If that means I have a social anxiety disorder... eh.
This makes me think of the split-screen multiplayer in Armored Core 4 and Armored Core for Answer. It's god damn horrible. Even on a nice big flat-screen TV you really can't see shit, 'cause the split-screen is that bad.The hardware pressure is already resulting in Japanese splitscreen games that use maybe 25% of the screen for each player, because the hardware just can't handle it any other way.
