I am sure we all know about it this for point. And I never really had any interest form what I say or heard about.
Then this monday I discovered This Place
Called "New Babbage" it is a steampunkers paradise and, well since monday I have been hooked exploring and discovering it!
Of course there are other places out in Second Life, and I wonder how many of SD.net participate?

Used to back when it was little more than multi-player 3d studio max...
Last time I was in SL was to attend a mates wedding... truly not something I ever thought I'd be able to say.

Isn't Second Life just a glorified chatroom but with more advertising?

Hey Crossroads, I play Second Life often and I usually visit New Babbage. It's a fun Steampunk city to be in. I'll PM my SL name to you and you can PM yours so we can meet each other.

After seeing your avatar I figured you'd bee on it as well
I have to say after a week or so playing it seems as if much of the "game" is devoted to ingame shopping. There are vast stretches of land that are essentially giant shopping malls for various game furniture, clothes, vehicles. You have to hunt to find really amazing stuff, but theres quite a bit that I have found so far that is worth it

Yeah you really have to hunt down the good stuff in SL, there are also some good roleplaying groups in SL. Like for example I roleplay a Furry Time Lord in the New Gallifrey sim and I have my own TARDIS that actually works in the SL world. At least as close as you can get to a TARDIS in SL.
