I think you might actually be making the choice of your final mission's handler when choosing whether to reply to his or Steven's email. I replied to Steven's first because it's so damn fun to goad him on, but then I noticed the option to reply to Albatross' email wasn't there.

Since you're leaving them your PDA unit, that kind of makes sense, doesn't it? You only have one to give. Of course, you can always choose SIE, I think. I'm not sure if it's even possible to kill her.

The pain in the ass I'm having is that I want to kill Marburg so very much, but he always runs. I later learned that you have to have a history of choosing Suave, you can't just spam suave and threaten on him because he'll realize you're only goading him. You have to have a history of lots of suave answers - unfortunately, the suave answers tend to be asinine and piss off Mina.

No, you can have all three available, and in all my playthroughs except when I killed everyone this was the case. You can't always choose SIE because you don't always meet her. Heck is the 'backup', in that you can't alienate him unless you've done Moscow and met SIE/Albatross/both.

The 'history of suave' thing for Marburg is internet noise. Its complete bullshit. All that matters is what you do in Rome. Trust Mr 100% here. Online guides also say to rescue Madison, when I found this never worked ever (and you get more -1s from going to the bombs anyway).

And many of the suave answers get you money, bonuses etc from Mina.

If you go to Moscow first and meet SIE, you get -2 (I think) rep with Marburg when you first meet him. If you act anything other than professional with him, you'll have enough negative rep with him easily.

I haven't tested whether you can kill him after you save Madison, I intend to do that in my current playthrough. But you definitely need to use the suave option in the final conversation.

I don't buy the 'history of suave' thing either, but I think its supposed to be you have the suave perk, which you can only get if you choose suave in your earliest conversations. You really should though, because that perk is better than the professional or aggressive perks (reduced cooldown for all skills versus a pitiful endurance bonus and a pitiful punching bonus).

Yeah the punching bonus is balls. :)

I think it's more to do with you being unprofessional (killing CIA/NSA etc), shagging Madison, and getting his intel than his standing. I've killed him with -3 and -6, and I've failed to kill him with -6. I've killed him before I met SIE. Some of the Aggressive options give negatives too (especially those that threaten him).

I'd say make sure you get Marburg's intel from the CIA mission and the Museum and you'll probably be fine. It took me a few goes regardless.

Killing CIA or that NSA guy doesn't do it. I didn't kill any of them in those two missions but I still killed Marburg.

The reputation thing is only to point out that you need to have him dislike you. Which is a minimum -3 I believe, and you can get that in one conversation even without having met SIE (though having met SIE and working with her nets you a good penalty) - though I admit I like to push it as low as I can with Marburg. :)

Suave's the best dialogue choice anyway, as it's a choice between Psychopath, Boy Scout, and Smart Ass. Although veteran is good too.

Yeah, killing them just gives you another -1 or -2 with him. I hate that NSA guy anyway. :)

And I find none of the dialog options is always 'good', which makes the system work as intended. I jump around all the time. Roleplaying? In a roleplaying game? Impossible!

I use suave the least I think, but if it's a light moment it's always good.

The only thing that confuses people about Marburg I think is that you piss him off by talking about Pakistan, but just having the intel about Pakistan isn't enough (its the second-last intel for him I think).
