The Warp is magic no more than the Force is. Besides, not only is Clark's magic weakness ill defined as hell (everybody knows he HAS it but nobody seems to know how it WORKS, and he can still go toe to toe with Captain Marbles who's powers ARE magical in origin), but he (and presumably Kara) are the ONLY ones with this weakness. Guess what-the entire bleeping Marvel family WORKS on magic, and every last one of them is Superman level (minus the 50 different kinds of vision). So's JJ. The various Wonder females aren't far behind. What's the name of our Junior Martian again? They smash the laws of the universe just like magic, he has i was not aware of that. the psionics from warhammer 40K work alittle bit diffrently, they warp reality and can destroy nerly anything if the psyker is strong enuf, and the tyranids have alot of warp power.
As for the numerical advantage, yeah, they totally have to be attacked individually. There's nothing in the DCU than can area/volume effect fight. Oh wait. Or move so fast they can attack a couple thousand foes (low end) in a single second. Oh wait.
EDIT:
And I'm supposed to be scared by psykers you need a billion of to vaporize one measly continent? Half the people I work with can do that by their lonesome.
How are the ships ever getting close enough to Earth to launch those spores, and what makes you think they'll ever be able to enter the atmosphere?

In which case we should at least have one SSD, as well as Azure Hammer Command, which consists of the SSD Whelm and 57 other capital ships. Given that the Empire also apparently routinely defended the planet with at least 24 ISDs on standby, that gives us a low limit of around 80 capital ships during the time of the Empire. Not to mention the Emperor's warp storms.Stravo wrote:I just want to remind the SW wins folks when they bring up hypering in all these fleet assets that the hypothetical limits Coruscant's defenses ato what is usually in system at the time of the attack. The shadow in the warp ability isolates the system under attack. Of course if the SW verse can bring in every fleet asset the Tyranids get pwned.
That said, what makes you think the Nids can isolate the system?

Yeah, and we totally have seen them do that to a kryptonian. Wait, we haven't. And there's nobody who can do that in SCU. Oh wait, every single Green Lantern can. Question for those who keep current on DC-is Pluto Pluto again, or is it still what the Death Star II wants to be when it grows up PRETENDING to be Pluto?

The OP states nothing of that kind. They Tyrranids are stated to arrive in the respective UNIVERSE, and presumably in-system. NOTHING about them dropping out of the Warp in planetary orbit.lordofchange13 wrote:the tyranids would git there its part of the thread, the tyranids arive.
Given that you apparently know beans about the DC universe, you base this on-what, exactly?why would they never git there at all these are multikilmeter ships sporting guns that dwarf every huamn made weapon the DC universe has.
Also, bigger is not necessarily better. And a pity DCU Earth has access to ALIEN technology.
Yes they CAN. They HAVE.the green lantern can not sheild a pwhole planet, ore even a country.
It's not happening at all, actually.this is happening world wide.
A single Green Lantern can do it in a moment, actually, and that's assuming the ever get close enough for that to begin with. What's to keep the First Tier heroes from simply toss the Tyranid fleet into the sun?a thousand superwarriors cannot kill a hundred billion soldiers from landing it's just impossible,
Because-you say so.they would git tired and lose. even all the superman level guys cant hold off a army of this magnitude!
And Superman and a lot of my other colleagues have the ability to move planets all by their lonesome, can move FTL under their own power and flat out IGNORE megaton range events happening in their left ear. And you seem to be assuming DCU Earth has to defend against every Tyranid fleet in existence. It doesn't. All it has to deal with is the fleet present for the battle of Macragge which as it seems DIDN'T have millions of Tyranid vesels.you seem to not understand the tyranids numbers. they have MILLIONS of ships, and bhundreds of billions if not trillions of soldiers and biotanks.

I want to say, Blackbolt screams and nids die.
Beta Ray Bill's ships shows how it nearly killed Galactus, by using planet destroying firepower on his dinner.
Molecule Man turns nids into Thors or something.
Nova, Quasar, Graviton blow shit up.
I think there is still a celestial in San Francisco.
Or Richards or Doom unveils there latest doomsday device.
I'm sure the X-men contribute some how.

first it would make sence if you did more research on the tyranid ships. second sence you are not really puting in new arguments, it would seem i have won. yaaaa yaaa for me . one last thing i didn't find it on the board, is there a spell check for replys?

Re: Battle of Macragge...otherverse style
First off a decent web browser can spell check for you, but maybe your parents won't allow you to download anything.one last thing i didn't find it on the board, is there a spell check for replys?
Posting Rules
1. Use Proper English. This is an English language forum, and we expect a decent attempt at proper English. This means decent spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. In particular, do not use annoying SMS-speak such as "ur" instead of "you are" or "b4" instead of "before". We understand that not everyone has English as a first language and we can make allowances for that, but you should at least make the effort.
Debating Rules
4. No "Broken Record" Tactics. Do not employ the "broken record" debating style of continuously repeating yourself until other people give up.
5. Back Up Your Claims. If you make a contentious statement of fact and someone asks for evidence, you must either provide it or withdraw the claim. Do not call it "self evident", restate it in different words, force the other person to prove your claim is not true, or use other weasel techniques to avoid backing up your claims.
Here's a link to the rest: Rules which you should have read by now.
As for the rest, even if he does nothing else Superman or any other hero flying at 99.9999c with an assumed mass of 82 kilograms (180lb.) can hit with a force of around 46 gigatons just by ramming you. If they do something like throw a trident missile at that speed you end up with a projectile hitting with a force of 42 Teratons. Before you mention the spores that is what weaker heroes are for, they do just enough to kill the spores so the missiles can get through.
This is of course a single example of a hero that can harm the fleet. I'm not an expert on others, but I know there are many more and of those we also get Thor, who is a god so I feel confident that the comic verses using their speed advantage will have no trouble keeping their worlds Nid free.
Also, seeing the smileys, I'm going to need to ask you to fuck off and die you thread necroing little troll.
School requires more work than I remember it taking...

i don't care if other 40k players wouldn't want to talk to me, just git back to the point of the thread that i am arguing: can DC earth fight off a tyranid hive fleet? and if you don't whant to hear it from me go ask some one else, thats all im saying. why do you people have to take things beyond what the are. why do you not try to prove my thought roung?! otherwise this website is pointless.hongi wrote:I'm inclined to believe you are a troll, or approximately nine years old. Re: Battle of Macragge...otherverse style
I have quickly looked up some heroes, villains without nemesis’, that if were cloned in to a large force would defeat the hive fleet such as: Plasmus, metamorpho, Thom Kallor, Mxy, Ti'julk Mr'asz (but he’s in the future so he won’t help much, I would think that this is taking place in modern day earth), super man (he would be one of the first the nids kill from psyker blasts), Doomsday, and lastly one of the super girls. There are of curse villains that can help, but I do not believe they would help since, most just live to see their nemesis fail. Now to go though how the characters would fail respectively: plasmus will be launched in to the nid invasion force aboard there ships, killing a crap loud of termaguants, them the synapse leader will warp blast him in to molecular dust (just to be fast, essentially the same thing would happen to superman, though not as fast.), superboy gets blasted. The hero space station, because tyranids aren’t really stupid, they know that the tower would be the base for space defense. Thom would probably de the biggest threat, which I have mentioned; he could decrease his mass to nothing jump to light speed, arriving at the tyranid fleet faster them all the others increase the mass of some of the hive fleet to pull in and smash to gather the surrounding vessels. I wouldn’t put it past him to kill thousands of hive ships but as with all the otheres, the tyranids will learn what’s happening and mind control him to kill the other heroes fighting the ground army. Mxy will not help earth and just mess with superman till superman dies and mxy goes back to the 5th universe. Dooms day could kill every sing invading nid but would also kill every human till earth is lifeless. I don’t know if doomsday can develop a defense to the warp. All the others of good power would run away seeing superman shot to the speed of light by Thom kallor.

I submit, though i didn't think that superman when at lightspeed. but all the realy power full guys are still just single people can they take on a million monomolecular blade armed warriors with a propret psykers?Norade wrote:First off a decent web browser can spell check for you, but maybe your parents won't allow you to download anything.one last thing i didn't find it on the board, is there a spell check for replys?
Also, seeing the smileys, I'm going to need to ask you to fuck off and die you thread necroing little troll.

in about 40 minutes after some googling you did a complete turnabout when just a couple posts ago you were saying that superman can do two things against the tyranids: Fuck and All.
Oh - and soops doesnt travel at lightspeed, he travels at Super-Speed - and to him Lightning appears to be moving in slow motion. Or so according to an 80s issue of comic.

It'll take Clark all by his lonesome about a minute? Heck WALLY could probably take them. Like hell you have researched the DCU. We're talking about individuals who can move faster than light.can they take on a million monomolecular blade armed warriors
And you keep bringing up those psykers as if they were the be all end all weapon when you YOURSELF said you need a billion of them to vaporise one measly continent* when Clark, Kara, JJ, EVERY Green Lantern (possibly excepting Allan,I don't know if his ring is up to Corps ring levels) and lots of other people can do that on their own.
*I don't for one minute actually believe 40K psykers are that weak-I've gleaned THAT much from the 40K discussions on here-but since supermoron13 was the one who came up with that number I don't feel particularly inclined to correct him.
