I've found no ability to manually unequip anything. So if you want a challenge by unequipping armor and weapons, or if you want to unequip the Metal Cestus and just use regular Fists, no dice. Speaking of the big weapons though, you'll have the ability to throw them in Brotherhood, and to use the pistol at close quarters. (For example, stab a guy and "snap shoot" a guy running up to you at the time.)
Little tip: Although throwing knives are two-hit kills in Forli and Venice (instead of one-hit kills in Florence and Tuscany), they're still great for reducing a Brute's health, so I've used them to start a combat with Brutes involved. In general, the amount of armor worn is proportional to (nominal) threat level, and in particular resistance to attempted grabs and one-hit kills, so they're priority targets for the Hidden Blade.
Glad to hear, Vympel. My main story complaint is that some of the targets seem to be a bit too over-the-top with the EEEEEEEVIL, but have a story teaser...

Incidentally, it reminded me of another thing that I don't like about AC2... the 2012 portion picks up literally where AC1 left off, but now you have some semi-optional puzzles tied to Subject 16's own memories... aka "Mr. Blood On Your Wall." (I don't feel that this is storyline spoilers because it's about as much as you already should know from playing AC1... which I didn't.) Once you complete any of these puzzles though, you cannot replay that puzzle on that playthrough.
Likewise, once you miss a cutscene QTE prompt, I don't think you can get it again unless you Abort Memory or something, if even... so when Leonardo gets to his new place in Venice, you'd better well Press O to HUG him!

Those prompts are damn annoying. I've missed most of them so far - I'm about to do the memory where you escort your family out of Florence. It bothers me because it forces you to pay more attention to what you'd expect is just a passive viewing experience.
I loved the sloppy, public execution of the first target. Altair would've been horrified.
If you've got a ubisoft account linked to your PSNID and are getting Uplay points, don't bother with the console theme. Get the Auditore family crypt and extra throwing knives.
The overall series story gets pretty bad in AC2. Like really bad. But the Ancestor story is still good, so it's ok, right?

Well yeah, I don't remember any prompts from the cutscenes. Either it's just been awhile since I've played the game or I really spaced them.

As far as the uPlay rewards go, I only unlocked the family crypt to explore, as it has some nice background information put in it, and doing the free-run sequences in the tombs was very enjoyable.
Something I'm curious about uPlay is, can you play the same game on multiple platforms and earn points each time?

That ALMOST was my sister. I was lucky not to miss it on my own playthrough. Ironically, that's why I dislike Ubisoft-style... you have to start completely from scratch to meet anything story-wise that you missed, ditto for "Fly Swatter" (unless you have the Battle of Forli DLC).
I do recall one that does affect gameplay though, for one of the assassinations-turned-fightsSpoiler
the one where you have to finish off the wounded Jacopo de' Pazzi... fortunately, you only have to kill him, not actually confront the guards, so you can just flee them
Ezio is caught and his arms held by two guards -- if you meet the QTE prompt he simply kills them both, but if you miss it, he merely shrugs them off... freeing himself, but meaning that there's two more guards to face.
I haven't tried "same game, multiple platforms, earn points each time," but I know that UPlay actions only count once, so you'll get the full 100 Units just by clearing the story (seriously, all four of the actions are required to clear the story anyway), but you won't get more by playing through the story again.

I do agree, save up for Brotherhood -- don't need the theme, and unless you're spamming Throwing Knives or in the one place (I won't spoil its name) where you can't buy more, you don't need the "25 Throwing Knives" belt, and there should be enough guards in that area to loot their bodies anyway. (Hint: When you get the horse, I don't believe it can jump the gap, so it's actually useless at that point -- but you CAN use it as an easy way to quickly kill off the guards before the gap, just stay at walking speed and cut them down. It's pretty much the only time attacking from a horse is viable, unless anyone knows more?) Spend the Units on the Auditore Family Crypt* and/or the Altair outfit.
* I'm guessing that it can't be replayed on the same playthrough, but I'd be happy to be wrong on this front.

I have said it many times, but I thought that the sequence in AC1 where you butcher your way through the defences of the Crusader camp and walk right up to the King and tell him how it is, followed by dispatching (with ease at this point in the game) all of the Templar's champions just made for a great scene of empowerment and a good climax in the game itself.
You do get more Uplay points from playing the same game on different platforms. I have AssCreed 2 on PS3 as well (I got it when my 360 got bricked over Christmas) and got 100 points from completing it there.

For the record, I'm not pirating it - but the DRM was the single and sole factor that prevented me from buying the game. I've played a bit on a friend's XBox copy, but Ubisoft isn't getting a purchase from me.
Vympel, if you're thinking that the horse fighting is useless except for that one portion I told you about, there's going to be not only riding within the cities, but also mounted sword combat and from-the-horse assassinations in Brotherhood. Oh, and rocket ships (not that kind!).
