Well, hopefully when it DOES finally come out, there won't be an automatic patch needed on release. I'm hoping that the delay means they want to get ALL the bugs out before distributing it.

I wouldn't mind if they delayed it a bit more if it would guarentee they'd have time to implement ground vehicles and player-made cities. I'm still waiting untill the first expansion, though (ought to give me enough time to build up a cash reserve, as well).

The game si supposed to be out April 15th. There's a video interview on www.gamespot.com. It's subscription service, but being how popular SWG is becoming, I wouldn't doubt it coming out on the free section.

Tax day folks. Last time I was at the site, they said vehicles and player cities would NOT be available. However, the first thing to be implemented will be player cities, and then ground vehicles. Join the Dark Guard!

Has it been decided that there will be a SD.net league?
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Pretty sure it won't be possible, but I'd like to work my way up to commanding an ISD in the game.

Jegs, I've got first dibs. If I could remember how I did it, I came up with a way that makes it possible for someone to command an ISD. I know you start up high. First off there are 25,000 ISDs at the height of the Empire. Hopefully that falls in this timeline. The hardest part is figuring out how many people will play the game. I just use a simple number, 100,000. Now, say 10k drop after the first month. 90k. Now, Not everyone is going to be Imperial. Being Pirate, smuggler, Rebel, bounty hunter, whatever whatever etc., give us half of that. 45k. Now, many will be ground forces. 10k. that leaves us with 35k. Not everyone is keen on commanding capital ships. A lot of people like being fighter pilots, others different position. Drop another 10k. That leaves 25,000 ISDs that need captains. Heh. The number of players and how they drop is compeltely out of my ass. But then again, come on, this game has to go a whole year at least before the Sapce expansion comes out. So far, I've only run into Jegs and myself who want to captain an ISD. (I know many others do to. bleh) But you would have to go through hella training plus the Imperial ranks. Which is what I am already planning to do.

Those will come in later patches. First will be player-made cities.

There's already a joint ASVS/SDnet league known as 19th Imperial Division aka The Cleaners.
