On the other hand, krogan are noted to be powerful biotics, whereas by implication most human biotics are pretty wimpy in comparison. On the other hand, a maxed out Lift skill can lift Colossi, but we don't really know how much Colossi mass, or how accurate that is outside of gameplay. Comparitively, a maxed out Throw is 1.25 kilonewtons going by the description, which is pretty significant.

Rare doesn't mean those that are can't be powerful. Battlemasters like Wrex are supposed to be very powerful biotics, according to the Codex.

Wait, that's it? 1250 newtons isn't that much; you're certainly not going to throw around tanks all willy-nilly. You can accelerate the half-ton Master Chief a few extra m/s2, but I'm not sure if that can really cause significant damage.Stargazer wrote:Shepard's biotic telekinesis has no problem tossing around enemies, including krogan, so he should have no problem with the Chief. If you want to get technical the maximum force of "throw" is 1250 newtons.PhilosopherOfSorts wrote:What, is Shepard some kind of jedi or something? Can he really just casually toss around half a ton of resisting Spartan? Or is this like one of those trekkie type scenarios where the star destroyer just sits there while the the Federation pulls out all the stops?
EDIT: Fixed punctuation.
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

Unless Sheppy just knocks MC off-balance and kills him while he's face-down in the mud. MC has no real defence against any of the ME cheese.

Yeah, they're rare, but they're also powerful. The description of Wrex's Battlemaster class, as well as various Codex stuff on the krogan, makes that quite clear. In fact, I'm pretty sure the Codex outright states that krogan biotics are 'rare but powerful', and it's pretty heavily implied through dialogue with Wrex and the asari Matriarch bartender in ME2 that the difference between krogan and asari biotics is mostly in frequency, not power.Star Wars 888 wrote:On the contrary, krogan biotics are stated to be pretty rare.
It doesn't necessarily need to harm him, that's what the guns are for. Like Stark says, it can be used to keep the Master Chief off balance, such as knocking the legs out from under him and so on. Sheppard doesn't necessarily have to catapult the Chief off through the air for Throw to be useful. Depending on how you take the 'curve ball' effect in ME2, it could seriously mess with the Chief.Balrog wrote:Wait, that's it? 1250 newtons isn't that much; you're certainly not going to throw around tanks all willy-nilly. What is Project Zohar?
Here's to a certain mostly harmless nutcase.

There is an example from the latest novel where it takes five direct shots from a pistol to breach a turian soldier's barriers (and five more to get through his armor).adam_grif wrote:Neither of which gives us much/any useful information about this scenario, unless you know something we don't.Stargazer wrote:The codex and the novels are the best sources for technical info on Mass Effect.
