Timothy had already explained the joke. Apparently she'd guest-starred on Atlantis too, as "Willa" in "Irresistable", which IIRC was the first Lucien episode. So she was probably one of his drugged "wives", IIRC.

There's a new interview with Robert Caryle discussing developments between Rush and Young in the first half of the season. It's interesting because it may provide the catalyst for the SGA/SGU crossover:
Spoiler
Rush will spill all and the enmority of his revelations will bring Young onto his side. But is Rush telling the truth? Young may decide to head back to Earth and access the Atlantis database, to veriy Rush's story and see if it jibes with Ancient records.

Not to beat the dead horse again, but I forgot that Gateworld did a recent interview with David Hewlett, where he discusses McKay's appearance on SGU:
“I just read the script on the plane ride here.”

Those were the first words David Hewlett spoke to GateWorld in regards to Stargate Universe‘s highly anticipated crossover episode with characters from sister series Atlantis. GateWorld sat down for an exclusive chat with the actor during his appearance at Creation Entertainment’s Official Stargate Convention in Chicago, Illinois last month.

The episode, “Seizure,” is currently scheduled as the fifteenth episode of SGU Season Two, and will air sometime in the first half of 2011. In addition to Hewlett’s reprisal of Dr. Rodney McKay, the episode will also feature an appearance by Robert Picardo as Atlantis expedition leader (at least up through “Enemy At The Gate”) Richard Woolsey.

“I was told not to tell anyone I was in it!” Hewlett said. “And then literally a day later, it was announced at Comic-Con!”

For fans of Atlantis wondering exactly how McKay and his personality will fit into the tone and pacing that has been established on Universe, Hewlett states that they weren’t the only ones.

“I was sitting there going, ‘How does McKay fit into this world?’ He’s such a different character, and Atlantis is so different from SGU,” he said. “I was a little nervous about that. But I think they’ve done a really good job of getting them in there.

“It’s not a McKay episode. It’s not all about McKay and it’s not all about Robert [Picardo]. It’s an episode of SGU. But I think they’ve nicely melded the worlds together.”

All that being said, expect for some of McKay’s personality traits and eccentricities to be reigned in a bit for the new series.

“You cannot have McKay in an episode — just like you can’t have Jack [O'Neill] in an episode of Stargate — without a certain personality, or at least aspects of that personality, coming through,” Hewlett told GateWorld. “But I think they’ve done a really good job of getting just enough of it in there. But not so much that it takes away from what they are doing on SGU.”

Could the appearance of Woolsey and McKay on Universe open up the door for other Atlantis characters to make appearances in the future? It’s a question only the writers can answer, but Hewlett remains hopeful.

“Secretly in my heart, I hope it means we will see more of the Atlantis crew come in,” he said. “And selfishly, for me, I miss playing McKay. And I just felt so happy and honored that Robert and I were asked to come in. It’s Stargate. It’s family. It’s home.”
So like O'Neill, McKay's going to be slightly toned now. Not a bad thing; I enjoy the SGU O'Neill more than the O'Neill of SG-1's later years, after all. Still really looking forward to seeing the Atlantis characters finally make an appearance.

More casting news for SGU's sophomore season has been posted and there are some interesting additions that may give us the basic plot of the SGA/SGU crossover.
Spoiler
It looks like the SGC may be trying to reach Destiny again by utilizing Langara's naquadria deposits. Aside from the nice link back to SG-1 (and finally dealing with Langara's status as we know it was occupied by the Ori), it'd make sense that McKay would be involved in the experiment from Langara or the ship. And if there are Langaran and IOA politics involved as the article reports, then Woolsey's inclusion makes sense too. I'm really interested in seeing Garber on the show; he's one of my favorite actors.

Too bad they can't whip out Jonas Quinn. I particularly liked seeing crossover of back up characters, Walter for examples cameo in Atlantis' Vegas, or various crewman on the Daedalus that were on either the Prometheus or the Odyssey.

Yeah, Kevin Marks and Dave Kleinman.

I should think Jonas will at least get name-dropped in the episode, but we'll have to see.

If they're doing something with Langara's naquadria, it's possible Mckay and Woolsey won't be swapping bodies at all. I mean, Rodney would want to find out about Destiny and all that funky stuff

I still wonder why they were so keen to find Destiny anyway. Compared to Atlantis it's tech is millions of years out of date

Anyways, McKay, toned down slightly, could be interesting in SGU. Especially how he deals with Young and Rush. I foresee a conversation where McKay tries to explain how brilliant he is, only for Rush to slap him down impressively. And the inevitable comments about impossible deadlines and pressure of impending death

At any rate, it will be good to see SGA charachters again
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."

True. But the outdated tech might prove invaluable to Earth. As it's less advanced, it may be easier to reverse-engineer it and adapt it to Earth vessels rather than trying to adapt Atlantis-era tech.

Also, don't forget that Destiny's passed through dozens of galaxies during its sojourn. It data banks contain not only valuable stellar cartography, but presumably information on new races and potential threats to Earth outside of Milky Way and Pegasus -- which, granted is out of date, but you never know...

In any event, we know from Rob Cooper and Brad Wright that we'll be seeing Destiny's ultimate destination and purpose answered this season, so I'm looking forward to it.

I have a sudden mental image of Rush and McKay in a big argument, and Rush charging him with a lemon, only to realise McKay swapped bodies so he isnt actually allergic :D

A new interview with Brad Wright has been posted. He confirms the episode is very much a spiritual sequel to "The Pegasus Project" and gives more detail on the plot. I'm really looking forward to this.
