I haven't played an RPG style game in a while. So I thought I would pre-order one.
Fallout Las Vegas: $40 AUD
Gothic 4/Arcania: $35 AUD
I was leaning towards Fallout after the shitiness of Gothic 3. However I tried the demo of Gothic 4 and it didn't seem too bad. Any thoughts?

Since all the Gothic games have been awful, I'd have to say NV.

I'm actually astonished that there was actually a Gothic 3, let alone Gothic 4. I mean if you have to get either, get New Vegas.

Since I've never played the Gothic games I'm just going to go ahead and say New Vegas. If you've played Fallout 3 you mostly know what to expect, though they've been changing quite a few things for NV.

JoWood games have a reputation for being buggy unsupported messes which never work right for a good reason.

Not sure what the Gothic IV preorder bonuses are, but if you pre-order Fallout: New Vegas from your local GameStop there's an armor and canteen named after Vault 13, a Weathered 10 mm Pistol, and five Stimpacks, so that's another mark in New Vegas' favor.
Which reminds me, I need to get that Brotherhood Collector's Edition... too bad GameStop just has the Harlequin, I don't want to have to go somewhere else just for the cute lil' Doctor-- *is stabbed by syringe, falls over, BLARGH is ded*
