Star Trek SE DVDs

Post by Uraniun235 »

Having devoured all the special features of the first three Director's/Special Edition Star Trek DVDs, I want more. Anyone know if/when they'll do SEs for 4-6?

Yes for 4 as far as I know. I think you can read the specs at ign.com. I'm not sure of the rest. But I know it was rumored for 5.

V will be a straight Special Edition.

The only Special Edition for ST:V could possibly be 90 minutes of apologies by anyone who worked to create the movie.
"If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little."
-George Carlin (1937-2008)

"Have some of you Americans actually seen Football? Of course there are 0-0 draws but that doesn't make them any less exciting."
-Dr Roberts, with quite possibly the dumbest thing ever said in 10 years of SDNet.

That's a bit too harsh. There were elements working against Shatner that he could not control nor have foreseen.

If anything, Paramount execs deserve at least half of the blame, if not more.

I say Shatner, Paramount, and the Hollywood unions each deserve a third of the blame.

I disagree. As craptacular as ST5 was, it certainly wasn't fundie. You missed the message of the film- what do you think it meant when the 'God' Sybok was looking for turned out to be nothing more than a malevolent trickster, putting on Sybok's own face and saying it suited him best? It certainly wasn't fundie. It pokes fun at organized religion.

I'm still patiently waiting for the release of a special edition for ST6. That is the only one I plan to spend my hard earned money on.
