ST Race Survival Probability
We can safely assume that the odds of the Federation surviving a conflict with the Empire are well...slim at best.
However, which ST race or faction do you think would have the highest probability of surviving in or even eventually winning a prolonged war against the Empire?

Well...
No race has a chance of winning, unless you're talking omnipotents (and even then, we don't know if they are omnipotent, which is why people generally don't debate with them, too many unknowns). Personally, I think the Roms may survive slightly longer than the rest-but its miniscule at that.

The only race that could probably hold out more time would be Species 8472.

Humans of course
any ST Race can survive as long as they want to as long as they capitulate. Vulcans, for example, might see that there is no logic to fighting the Empire. Romulans would do the same for the short term or would trade military information in return for more favorable conditions.

Excluding Q and other superbeings, then the Galactic Empire would win. It's industry dwarfs the entire combined major powers in the alpha quadrent, it has insane speed advantages, and it's firepower and defenses are vastly superior to anything that's going to be thrown at it. Even if all the major powers in the star trek universe (excluding superbeings) united none of these things change, the Empire would just destroy them all at once instead of one at a time.

Re: ST Race Survival Probability
If "surviving" doesn't necessarily mean "surviving in the war against the Empire", then the Ferengi is my best candidate. They may as well cooperate with the Empire and be the only government left.Spyder wrote:We can safely assume that the odds of the Federation surviving a conflict with the Empire are well...slim at best.
