My First Jack-O'-Lanterns (Updated 10/10/10)

Post by JLTucker »

Since it is close to Halloween, I decided to try carving pumpkins. I did my first last Saturday and my second last night. Here are the results.

Last Saturday:

Last Night:

What do you think? Are there any veteran jack-o'-lantern creators here who can offer some tips?

Those are totally kick ass; maybe you should be offering tips instead of asking for them. :P

I was thinking Shaun of the Dead for the bottom two, but the second one isn't right. What are they?

Great job. :D

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

The top images are a design from a pumpkin in a film called Trick 'r Treat and the bottom images are indeed from Shaun of the Dead. I know the bottom images look somewhat different from Shaun and his paddle, but that's because I chose a horrible pumpkin. You have to view it from different angles, which is why I snapped two different images. The first looks like he's wielding a sword or something and the second looks like his paddle.

And thanks for the comments.

Instead of creating a new thread, I'm reviving this one. I just finished carving my favorite fictional movie serial killer onto a pumpkin. Sorry for the quality of the image with the pumpkin lit; I have a shitty mobile phone camera.

Thanks. I'm not sure which mask that is as they change from movie to movie. It's on the cover of the Halloween 5 DVD. I think the original used the Shatner mask.

It was fun carving it, but after I transfered the pattern onto the pumpkin, I couldn't see it very well. So I had to draw it on with a pencil.
