What Do You Want To Name Your Kids?

Okay, since I've teased/commented on names, now it's my turn to get teased.

Girl : Jhelian (Gel -e-an)

Boy : SeanEric (One Word, please)

Middle names will prolly be something more traditional.. Elizabeth (Nitram's favorite) or Katherine for the girl... James or Peter, for the boy.

Now, my nephews are Alexander Chase, Jacob Wade. and Jaxon Keith

Why Jaxon Keith? My father was Earl Keith, and nicknamed Jack. My Brother was Dean Keith. Since they didn't want to name my nephew Earl or Dean, Jaxon was the compromise.
It's actually very appropiate, considering that Jaxon (Jack'son) is the spitting image of both my dad and my brother.

btw, Dahak: are you telling me there's a German bureaucracy that can tell you what you can and can't name your kid? Jesus H. Christ...

Quinlan does work. I've seen two. Garret, Roger, Ian are also common.

All of the girl's names I've seen as well.

The only Quinlan I know is a friend's dog, so it's one of those "it sounds cool, but do I want to name my kid after a dog?" sorta things. All the names, like I said, come from one or another of my ancestral nations: Ireland, Scotland, Germany, or Russia. I've known someone by all the names except Mina. I don't know any Tania's, to be technical, but I know Tanya's and Tonya's, which are close enough in my book.

Don't knock it. After some of the fucking names I've heard, it's sounding like a better idea all the time.

I always like Alex, but my brother in law is Alex so I didn't want to have too many Alex's running around.

Mind you I went to High School with some kids whose parent's were really sick fundies. Named the Kids after the Archangels: Micheal, Lucifer, & Gaberael (sp) (Gabe was a girl)

Mind you, out of the Bunch Lucifer was the only tolerable one.

There's something I was thinking of earlier: You could give your kids angel names like Michael and Gabriel and no one would think anything of it, but if you give them cool angel names like Sachiel or Zeruel, you just know they'll take shit for it.

Well, if they're not going to let you name your kid "Asshat" or "Dildo" (or Adolph, considering the country in question), I can see. But they won't even let you use a name that isn't obviously masculine or feminine, which rules out quite a few. It's just the idea that some bureaucrat has the legal right to tell you that you can't give your kid a certain name because the government doesn't approve of it raises my hackles. That being said, there are a lot of incredibly stupid parents who give their kids incredibly stupid names. Normally, I'd suggest mockery to shame them into using some common sense, but the problem is it's the kids who usually end up on the recieving end of it, not the parents.

Hmm... as for middle names...

I was thinking that I could go with Morrigan Victoria. I don't know what would fit with Alexandria, though.

Keep in mind that I'm working with a last name that is a modern varient of the original French d'Armand, so it would have to work with that, too.

Actually, I knew a Kirby in University. He was one of the coolest, most confident guys I've ever met and he got chicks like nobody's business. Sometimes just as a result of having an interesting name it seemed.

Boy- Alec Bryon (Middle name Bryon is a tradition back to my great grandfather on my father's side)
