Basically they took a great man character classes from FF3(japanese) and FF5 and made it into a strategy game.
The game was hard as hell to find and I am damn proud to say I own one when it first came out...it's a kickass game except too few party member on your side(fieling only five...wish they took Tactic Ogre and made it 12)
Also they are making a pseudo sequel called Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced for the GBA
Yeah, I own the First Edition of Tactics also. I was almost disappointed when they re-released it as an uglified green version, the fact that I owned Final Fantasy Tactics made me feel superior to all the newbie Square fans.

Deus Ex probably had the best soundtrack of any PC game I've played.
All good, atmospheric stuff, but the standout track for me was the stirring music from the Training Academy levels, right at the game's beginning. Weird choice, maybe, but it caught my ear for two reasons:
1) When you go on your - JC Denton's - first real mission and put that training into practice, the background track, while completely different in style and mood, still has definite echoes of the music from the academy. Nice touch.
2) The crusading, you-too-can-strike-out-for-truth-and-justice tone of both the music, the training and the attitudes of your instructors is revealed, in the fullness of time... Spoiler
to be totally at odds with anti-terrorism force UNATCO's actual aims and objectives. You're unwittingly living a lie right from the start of the game, and the music plays on this. Subtle.
And then there's Resident Evil 2, which is the only game soundtrack I've seriously considered buying on CD.

For movies and TV, I would say probably LotR, the Star Wars soundtracks, Jurassic Park, and Cowboy Bebop. For games, the Xenogears and Xenosaga soundtracks, as well as Symphony of the Night, Guilty Gear X, and Star Ocean 2 soundtracks are good as well.
For score, I'd say in no particular order....

Batman
For sound tracks, at the moment the two in my mind are The Lost Boys and Sharpe. (Damn you UK Gold! )

I am capable of rearranging the fundamental building blocks of the universe in under six seconds. I shelve physics texts under "Fiction" in my personal library! I am grasping the reigns of the universe's carriage, and every morning get up and shout "Giddy up, boy!" You may never grasp the complexities of what I do, but at least have the courtesy to feign something other than slack-jawed oblivion in my presence. I, sir, am a wizard, and I break more natural laws before breakfast than of which you are even aware!
6.) The Phantom of the Opera - If any of you have never listen to opera or show tunes, this is a real good place to start. Just some amazing music in this musical.
5.) The Godfather - I just love the opening trumpet waltz. Really sets the tone for the rest of the movie.
4.) Raiders of the Lost Ark - Who doesn't feel like wearing a brown fedora after hearing the indy march?
3.) Gettysburg - well done score that has very soft and touching moments, and intense battle music.
2.) The Civil War (the Ken Burns series) - The violin piece Ashkoan Farewell is just a moving, beautiful piece of music. The Civil War era music presented on this disc is top notch.
1.) The Star Wars trilogy - Like you didn't see this coming. It's so hard to pick out a selection that represents the best of the Star Wars score. Do you pick Duel of the Fates? The Imperial March? The Han Solo and the Princess theme? Cantina Band? There are so many good selections in this score its amazing.
