Since our illustrious leader has decided to get C&C:G, what do the rest of you think about the game?

CONS:
Plays more like a glorified Demo
No story development
Runs between $40 to $50
Shows how much time until an enemy can use a super weapon
Announces when a super weapon is used
Infantry look like they're in party suits
Seven missions per side for twenty-one missions
Very easy to accidently pass missions
World Editor needs some improvement
No real need for heros i.e super infantry
No naval units
No real mission diversity

PROS:
Infinite resources using unique buildings or unit
Construction of multiple super weapons :D
Vehicles and buildings are rendered quite nicely
Nice variety in secondary strikes: Artillery, A-10, Athrax Bomb...
Shows a timer for super weapons
Tells how long the initial timer for strikes is
Skirmish AI is predictable but fun and challanging on higher settings
Unique heros i.e super infantry, only truely useful against human opponents
Aircraft....rule

Overall if the story was fleshed out a little and there were more missions the game would be a total riot. As is it's just an over priced riot with room for improvement.
Soldiers Live. And wonder why.

"It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to
demonstrate.
It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protester to burn the
flag."

I am a ENORMOUS Command & Conquer nut. Hell I was just playing Tiberian Sun right before comming here!

I really want this game BUT I want to hold off since I'm ordering a new computer on saturday. I don't want to play Generals on my Pentium III with it looking like crap....I want to play it the way it was meant to be played. :D

Yup, but having over two dozen ready to go one after another is great.

AoM has the edge over Generals in terms of storyline, but C&C:G's graphics look better, IMO. Except for the infantry, of course.

Nice game, looks well on my machine but WAY WAY too short. I only bought it a week ago and i've clocked it. It's only saving grace is that some of the Maps are nice for on-line gaming. We have a group of 5 playing each other.

LoL. Hey, don't kill the messenger. Here's on source that said that AoM was better
The introduction was kinda sad, especially when compared to red alert's one. Anyway i ignored that and its HEAVY PROPAGANDA(on manual and introduction) about the war on irak(i am against the war but this isnt a proper board to talk about it). The graphics looked ok, probably better than AoM's and wc3 but personally i liked wc3's and aom's graphic style better, but thats a personal opinion.

I have finished the tutorial and the first mission with china and USA(total 3 missions). The interface is sucky as always, although it has gone a little better than previous c&c titles. Pathing is a total joke(you think aom has bad pathing? try this)Where are the stats for my units? Why do they keep using left clicking for ordering and selecting units???

This game made me really appreciete aom and wc3. How could some ppl think that this game is superior to aom and wc3? This game is a total crap. I will finish all 3 campaigns just to see if it gets any better but i highly doubt about that.

The single-player campaign does not live up to the C&C name (unsuprising, since EA Pacific did it and not Westwood). It doesn't bring you in like in Red Alert when you could see the progress of your campaign. It's also far too short.

That said, it is fun (except China 7, which is ridiculous - a SCUD Storm countdown begins almost immediately while you're clearing out an ambush and don't even have a base).

They could have done so much more, though: the website says that America has been isolationists for twenty-odd years, China has taken it's place amongst the world's leading powers and, while communist, is lead by relatively young technocrats. The GLA launched a massive biochemical warfare strike against many industrialized nations, though North America was spared due to the ABM system.

So much potential...

No. You can sequentially select and fire them while others are still active, though it becomes a clickfest to select/steer the beams. They're much fun, though :D

In C&C:G, foxhole == tunner network == GLA scum.

Bah! I don't play RTS games soley for there single player. To the contrary, I won't buy a game that doesn't have good online player support (humans or comps). I usually play the campaigns, on ever difficulty until I can't go any furhter. Then I go online and have some fun. Sure the campaign is nice, btu online-THATS where the game really is.

Is there any chance I can get it to run on a PII 350?
