Exactly as the title suggests. I am not interested in anything fancy, just the ability to cut and paste various clips together for the purposes of uploading certain things on my youtube account. I usually use windows movie maker, but it seems to suck for certain clips I use. That is even though windows media player plays the clips with no problem, when trying to combine them using windows movie maker, it just doesn't work.
So what are your recommendations. Preferably some free download versions since I only do this as an occasional hobby and am not too serious about it.
recommend me some movie making software

Never used it but virtual dub is supposed to be good. And it´s free, too.

iMovie (at least the version in iLife '11) is the best one I have seen so far, do you have access to a mac?

This is pre-WWII. You can sort of tell from the sketch style, from thee way it refers to Japan (Japan in the 1950s was still rebuilding from WWII), the spelling of Tokyo, lots of details. Nothing obvious... except that the upper right hand corner of the page reads "November 1931." --- Simon_Jester

Well if you're not interested in obtaining after effects or premiere ah... extra-legally*... then I'd second virtual dub.
*they're both way too expensive for a hobbyist unless you're loaded, eligible for a serious discount or have some other means of getting them for cheaper than full price.
