I think bloodshed wouldn't be the thing that interests it, but comradery- that is how Khrone could get a bolo. Isn't their primary loyalty to their regiment?CaptainChewbacca wrote:Bolos in 40k are all well and good, but what happens when a Mark-30 starts seriously considering what Khorne has to say?

a mark 30, is capable of long term statigic thought, not only honors it's regiment but is programmed to protect humanity from threats both internal and external, the first mark 30, "went crazy" because no one but it figured out the presence of shapeshifting alien infiltrators. It did quite well but humans were really freaked by it's actions.

Chaos is capable of corrupting AIs just as well as corrupting people, and in fact, corrupting AIs is in some cases easier than corrupting a faithful human mind. This is precisely what happened to the STC factory producing the Iron Men that Gaunt and the 1st Tanith regiment came across. A Bolo would certainly attract the attention of Khorne and Tzeentch.
Yes, Chaos corrupting AIs doesn't make much sense, but then again Chaos warps the laws of reality itself and can even affect inanimate objects.
Thus, even if the Bolos were an STC design, the Inquisition and/or AdMech would be prudent in carefully assessing their nature before considering using them in any way, even if they can accept its AI (Abominable Intelligence!) as being adherent to the Machine God.
If it was STC, though, I don't think there would be any reservations about learning what they can about weaponry, motive systems, etc from examining it.

Although, it might be interesting to see what would happen with a whole brigade of Bolos - when they're in a pack, they're always in contact, running scenarios and such against each other, so it's possible that they would be able to detect one of their comrades starting to deviate from normal thinking patterns. Even more likely if they were informed ahead of time that there are magic demons that will try to corrupt their programming.
Of course, in such a scenario, the focus would then shift towards the Bolo's commander.
